    摘要： This invention relates to printed circuit board electrical circuit receptacles. One embodiment is a receptacle for receiving the connector prongs of a modular circuit component package of the so-called "dual in-line" type. Such contacts are retained by high pressure contact with the edges of its separate receptacle contact elements. Removal of the package is facilitated through operation of a movable element of the receptacle, which causes the prongs to slide laterally out of contact with the receptacle contact elements.

    摘要： An electrical connector assembly is provided for mounting on a circuit board. The assembly includes a first connector having a first dielectric housing fixed to the circuit board. A plurality of conductive terminals are mounted on the housing and are electrically connected to appropriate circuit traces on the circuit board. A second connector includes a second dielectric housing mateable with the first dielectric housing. A plurality of conductive terminals are mounted on the second housing for engaging the terminals of the first connector when the connectors are mated. At least one locking member is provided on the second dielectric housing and is lockable with the circuit board when the connectors are mated. Therefore, extraneous forces applied to the second connector are passed directly to the circuit board to protect the first connector and its connections to the board.

Each contact has an engaging portion (802) retained in the L-shaped tongue and a solder portion (803) extending beyond the rear wall and bent in right angle so as to parallel to the rear wall adapted for being soldered to the PCB. The pair of board locks is mounted to the bottom wall of the housing.

    摘要： Provided is an electrical connector having first and second surfaces and configured to establish electrical communication between two or more electrical devices. The electrical connector includes an insulative housing and a resilient, conductive contact retained in an aperture disposed from the first surface to the second surface. To contact the electrical devices, the contact includes a center portion from which extends two diverging, cantilevered spring arms that project beyond either surface of the electrical connector. To shorten the path that current must travel through the contact, one spring arm terminates in a bellows leg that extends proximate to the second spring arm. When placed between the electrical devices, the spring arms are deflected together causing the bellows leg to press against the second spring arm. For retaining the contact within the aperture, the contact also includes retention members extending from the center portion that engage the insulative housing.

A first connection unit and a substantially identical second connection unit are joined. Solder portions or solder balls may be provided for interconnection of the elongated contacts with external circuit board traces or the like. Furthermore, a retaining device for such a connector is provided. The retaining device is configured for reversibly holding an electrical connector and facilitating precise placement of the connector on a circuit board.
