Abstract: A circuit for sharing current between parallel LEDs or parallel strings of LEDs, and a method of use of the same, are disclosed herein. The circuit for sharing current between parallel LED pathways can include a first LED pathway, a first transistor coupled to the first set of LEDs and that can control a first current through the first set of LEDs, and a first measurement node having a first sensed voltage. The circuit can include a second LED pathway, a second transistor coupled to the second set of LEDs and that can control a second current through the second set of LEDs, and a second measurement node having a second sensed voltage. The circuit includes a first differential amplifier and a second differential amplifier, each of which can compare sensed voltage and can apply a voltage to a gate of one of the first and second transistors.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a mixed-mode chromatography medium is provided. The method can include, for example, oxidizing diol groups on diol-functionalized solid particles having pores of a median diameter of 0.5 micron or greater with substantially no pores of 0.1 micron or less in diameter and having a diol density of from about 200 to about 300 μmol/mL to aldehyde groups, thereby converting said diol-functionalized solid particles to aldehyde-functionalized solid particles; and coupling amine-functionalized ligands to said aldehyde-functionalized solid particles, said amine-functionalized ligands comprising an amine-substituted hydrophobic group joined to an acid moiety selected from the group consisting of a carboxyl group and a sulfo group.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and systems are disclosed for analyzing quality control (QC) strategies that are applied to testing processes an analyte in order to meet an acceptable level of probability of patient harm that could result from incorrect test results. The measure of patient harm takes into account severity of patient harm, as well as its occurrence. Methods include calculating, based on the parameters of the QC strategies and the test apparatus, an expected number of incorrect final results E(Nuf) due to a test system failure. The value of E(Nuf) can be used as part of a calculation of a predicted level of probability patient harm. The ratio of the acceptable level of probability of patient harm to the predicted level of probability patient harm can determine the adequacy of the QC strategies.

Abstract: The subject invention pertains to the detection and differentiation of genetic variations by nucleic acid amplification. The invention provides methods of detecting one or more genetic variations in a nucleic acid that are in close proximity simultaneously. The invention further provides primer and probe oligonucleotides and methods of using said primers and probes in assays to detect genetic variants of concern of SARS-CoV-2. The methods of the invention detect genetic variants of other pathogens, including influenza, or genetic variants involved in inheritable diseases or cancer.
