摘要: A fuel injection apparatus in accordance with the invention has a hot wire type sensor disposed in a bypass air passage and adapted to sense the flow rate of air in the bypass air passage. In order to absorb the pulsation of air flowing in the bypass air passage, the bypass air passage opens at its one end to the air cleaner of an intake system disposed in a portion upstream from the hot wire sensor. An orifice is disposed in a portion of the bypass air passage downstream from the hot wire sensor.

摘要: A variable stage type carburetor having a throttle valve and a movable venturi vane cooperative with the throttle valve. This carburetor further includes a negative pressure responsive device for forcedly shifting the venturi vane in a direction to be closed, irrespective of an opening of the throttle valve, when the negative pressure in the venturi portion is lowered to less than a given value, and an accelerator pump for additionally supplying fuel to an intake passage commensurate to the opening action of the throttle valve. The accelerator pump is effectively operated when the opening of the throttle valve remains at an angle no more than a given degree, while the negative pressure responsive device is effectively operated, when the opening of the throttle valve is at an angle no less than a given degree.

摘要: Under a partial load, a pumping loss is reduced by a stratified combustion to enhance a fuel consumption, and during the maximum output operation, the output is increased by a premixture combustion, and the output of an engine is controlled, thereby enhancing the drivability. Under the partial load, an ignition source is provided in the vicinity of a fuel injection valve, and after the fuel is injected, the mixture is ignited, and a resulting flame is caused by a spray of the fuel to spread into a cylinder, thereby effecting a stratified combustion. When the load increases, so that soot and so on are produced in the stratified combustion, the fuel injection is effected a plurality of times in a divided manner, and a premixture is produced within the cylinder by the front-half injection, and a flame, produced by the latter-half injection, is injected into the cylinder to burn this premixture.

摘要: An air-fuel ratio detector including an oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte, first and second electrodes provided on respective sides of the solid electrolyte, a porous diffusion resistor covering the first electrode, and a circuit arrangement for supplying a current between the first and second electrodes. In order to enable a detection of a wide range of air-fuel ratios, the current supplied between the first and second electrodes is controlled so as to feed oxygen from the second electrode to the first electrode through the solid electrolyte and then withdraw oxygen from the first electrode to the second electrode through the solid electrolyte. At the time of withdrawal of the oxygen, the mobility or migration of the oxygen is measured, with the mobility of the oxygen being detected in dependence upon a variation rate of a withdrawal current, an average value of the withdrawal current, or a time period from the starting time of the withdrawal to a time when the oxygen content near the first electrode has become nearly zero.

摘要: A heat-type flow sensor is provided on the upstream side of a Venturi portion formed in an air-intake path and in an air bypass communicating with the Venturi portion. An electromagnetic device is provided to control the amount of air flowing in the air bypass so that the output of the heat-type flow sensor converges to a set level. This electromagnetic device drives a fuel-scaling valve to scale fuel in accordance with the change of the amount of air supplied to the engine, and this scaled fuel is continuously injected into the air-intake path.

摘要: A fuel feeding apparatus for an internal combustion engine, in which a thermal type flow sensor is disposed in a bypass air path supplying bypass air from a point upstream of a Venturi portion formed in a main air-intake path to the Venturi portion, and the quantity of air flowing through the bypass air path is controlled by a solenoid unit so that the output signal of the thermal type flow sensor attains coincidence with a pre-set level. A fuel-metering valve actuated by the solenoid unit meters the quantity of fuel meeting a variation of the quantity of intake air being supplied to the engine so as to inject the metered quantity of fuel in a continuous flow into the main air-intake path. An oxygen sensor senses the concentration of oxygen in engine exhaust gases, and, on the basis of the output signal of the oxygen sensor, the value of the pre-set level is modified so that the rate of excess air in engine exhaust gases can be maintained to be .lambda.=1.
