摘要: Provided is a rubber composition that can improve fuel efficiency of a tire in low-temperature environments while ensuring adequate wet performance of the tire. The rubber composition contains: a rubber component (A) including at least 50 mass % of at least one isoprene-based rubber selected from the group consisting of natural rubber and synthetic isoprene rubber; a thermoplastic resin (B); and a filler (C) including at least 70 mass % of silica. The thermoplastic resin (B) is contained in an amount of from 5 parts by mass to 40 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the rubber component (A). The rubber composition has a tan δ at 0° C. of no greater than 0.5, a difference between tan δ at 30° C. and tan δ at 60° C. of no greater than 0.070, and a storage modulus at 1% dynamic strain and 0° C. of no greater than 20 MPa.

摘要: A method for reducing outgassing of a polyester composed of repeat units derived from 1,4-butanediol is melt blending the polyester with 0.2 to 2 weight percent water, based on the weight of the polyester. In addition to water, the polyester can also be blended with 0.01 to 0.5 weight percent of a quencher. The method results in formation of a polyester composition which exhibits reduced outgassing, and is suitable for molding into articles, for example an automotive headlight reflector or bezel.

摘要: Provided are: a rubber-reinforcing fiber, in which adhesion between a rubber and a fiber is enhanced and which is thereby capable of further improving the durability than before when used as a reinforcing material; a rubber-fiber composite; and a pneumatic tire using the same. The rubber-reinforcing fiber includes a core-sheath type composite fiber whose core portion is composed of a high-melting-point resin (A) having a melting point of 150° C. or higher and sheath portion is composed of a resin material (B) having a melting point lower than that of the high-melting point resin (A). The resin material (B) includes: an olefin-based random copolymer (C) and/or an olefin-based homopolymer or olefin-based copolymer (D) (excluding (C)); and a styrene-based elastomer (E) containing a monomolecular chain in which mainly styrene monomers are arranged in series.

摘要: A bitumen-polymer composition comprising mixing and heating of a base bitumen-polymer with at least: one compound of general formula (I): R1—(COOH)z where R1 is a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated, hydrocarbon chain, comprising 4 to 68 carbon atoms, and z is an integer from 1 to 4, and a compound (II) selected from the compounds able to react according to an acid-base reaction, an amidation reaction or an esterification reaction, with the carboxylic acid group of the additive (I). The present invention also relates to the composition obtained by said method and a kit composed of a bitumen-polymer composition comprising an additive (I), in the form of blocks, and a capsule comprising a compound (II).

摘要: An object of the present invention is to enhance, in a rubber composition for tires comprising natural rubber as a principal component of rubber components, a viscosity of the rubber composition in an unvulcanized state by providing the rubber composition with flexibility to improve workability of the rubber composition and improve a low loss tangent of the rubber composition after vulcanization while maintaining the performances particularly both on snow and wet road surfaces, wherein the rubber component contains 60% by mass or more of natural rubber, and the rubber composition contains 8 to 40 parts by mass of a thermoplastic resin based on 100 parts by mass of the rubber component, and isophthalic acid dihydrazide.
