摘要: A fluid system, especially for a transmission having a hydrodynamic torque converter and a mechanical change speed gear box downstream therefrom. For supplying pressurized fluid to the working chamber of the torque converter, the clutches and brakes of the torque converter and the servomotors which control the gear steps of the downstream mechanical change speed gear box, there is provided a pressure system having first and second low pressure pumps and preferably an auxiliary high pressure pump. The first low pressure pump delivers fluid continuously for delivery to the working chamber of the torque converter and to the servomotors. The second low pressure pump can deliver pressurized fluid through a one way valve to the discharge side of the first low pressure pump or alternatively its output can be bypassed directly to the input of the second low pressure pump. The second low pressure pump provides fluid to the inlet side of the high pressure pump and the high pressure pump delivers high pressure fluid to the servo motors as needed. The three pumps and the passages connecting the same may all be located in a common housing which may be formed as a part of the transmission.

摘要: A vehicle transmission system is provided which comprises, in combination, a vehicle transmission and an electronic control system for converting input signals thereto related to operating conditions of the transmission to output control signals for the transmission in accordance with a predetermined set of criteria. The electronic control system senses a plurality of operating conditions of the transmission and produces digital input signals in accordance therewith, and includes a microprocessor for directly monitoring the state of the digital input signals, a programmable read-only memory connected to the microprocessor, a timing set-up for directly delivering clock pulses to the microprocessor, an output arrangement, connected to the microprocessor and including a latch, for producing output control signals, an addressing unit for coordinating the operation of the programmable read-only memory and the latch under the control of the microprocessor, and a random access memory for storing the states of signals being processed and enabling arithmetical operations to be performed with the stored signal states. A movement sensor senses shaft speeds so as to produce at least one of the digital input signals. The programmable read-only memory stores a series of coded instructions for repetitively controlling the operation of the microprocessor such that, on the basis of the input signals, output signals are produced which are transmitted to electromechanical operators, e.g., solenoid valves or relays, which control the operation of the transmission.

摘要: A hydraulic transmission control system, having speed selector valves for providing hydraulic fluid to selectively actuate speed and directional gear clutches and a pressure modulating valve for modulating pressure rise of hydraulic fluid, to control fluid pressure and fluid flow. A differential valve associated therein and having differential fluid pressure regulator means to provide fluid to the directional selector valve at a differentially constant lower pressure compared with main rail fluid pressure, the differential valve also having: a safety reset valve and safety react delay orifice for preventing actuation of a directional gear clutch after a startup with the controls inadvertently out of neutral gear; quick dumping check valve means for insuring proper operation of the pressure modulation valve; modulating valve means for eliminating or reducing hydraulic fluid pressure peaks; and throttle means for reducing refilling time for the directional gear clutches. The above combination provides a preferred environment for a modulating valve in a transmission control system, the modulating valve including a load piston and spool reciprocably arranged in a bore with spring means interacting between the spool and load piston, a pressure modulating chamber being formed in the bore on one side of the load piston, the load piston and bore cooperating to form a relief passage in combination with the modulating chamber upon modulation of fluid in the chamber to a selected pressure.
