    摘要: An external cavity laser and a tuning method therefor are provided. The external cavity laser includes a gain chip, and a tunable reflector. The tunable reflector includes a main waveguide, a beam splitter, a first branch waveguide, a first photonic crystal modulator, a second branch waveguide, and a second photonic crystal modulator. The beam splitter is configured to equally split the optical signal transmitted by the main waveguide into a first optical signal and a second optical signal and is configured to transmit the first optical signal to a first branch waveguide and the second optical signal to a second branch waveguide. A first photonic crystal modulator is configured to tune the first optical signal transmitted by the first branch waveguide. A second photonic crystal modulator is configured to tune the second optical signal transmitted by the second branch waveguide.

    摘要: A semiconductor light emitting element includes an optical waveguide having a first and second waveguide provided with a width that allows propagation of light in a second-order mode or higher and a multimode optical interference waveguide provided with a wider width than the first and second waveguide and arranged at a position therebetween. The semiconductor light emitting element further includes a first optical loss layer facing the first waveguide in an active-layer crossing direction for causing a loss of light that is propagating in the first waveguide in the second-order mode or higher and a second optical loss layer facing the second waveguide in an active-layer crossing direction for causing a loss of light that is propagating in the second waveguide in the second-order mode or higher, the active-layer crossing direction being orthogonal to a surface of an active layer.

    摘要: A laser chip including a plurality of stripes is disclosed, where a laser stripe can be grown with an initial optical gain profile, and its optical gain profile can be shifted by using an intermixing process. In this manner, multiple laser stripes can be formed on the same laser chip from the same epitaxial wafer, where at least one laser stripe can have an optical gain profile shifted relative to another laser stripe. For example, each laser stripe can have a shifted optical gain profile relative to its neighboring laser stripe, thereby each laser stripe can emit light with a different range of wavelengths. The laser chip can emit light across a wide range of wavelengths. Examples of the disclosure further includes different regions of a given laser stripe having different intermixing amounts.

    摘要: Provided in the present disclosure is a laser for use in a LiDAR, the laser comprising: a plurality of light-emitting units, each light-emitting unit comprising a plurality of light-emitting points, wherein the plurality of light-emitting units share a cathode or an anode; and each light-emitting unit is respectively provided with a wiring unit; and each wiring unit is electrically connected to an unshared anode or cathode of its corresponding light-emitting unit. The area of a laser provided with a plurality of light-emitting units does not increase, and echo light beams generated from detection light beams emitted by the plurality of light-emitting units are received by the same detector, thereby improving the vertical angular resolution and point cloud density of a LiDAR.
