    摘要: An end-burning grain of a solid gas-generating composition which may be a propellant for use in rocket motors, in which an elongate metal heat conductor is embedded to increase mass burning rate by the effect of heat transferred from the hot combustion gas to the unburned gas-generating composition through the heat conductor. The improvement resides in that the heat conductor is constituted of a plurality of relatively thin wires which are loosely twisted together. This heat conductor can produce greater extent of increase in the burning rate and has a mechanical strength sufficient for embedding in a practical grain.

    摘要: In an electronically controlled ignition device for a combustion engine, firstly an ignition timing and an energized angle of an ignition coil are calculated with response to running condition of the engine, secondly a non-energized angle of the ignition coil is calculated based on the result of the above calculation, thirdly the number of pulses generated with response to the angle of revolution of the engine is counted from the preceding ignition timing, so as to start the energizing of the ignition coil when the result of the above count coincides with the result of the above calculation of non-energized angle, and fourthly the number of pulses generated with response to the angle of revolution of the engine is counted from a reference position of revolution at which a reference pulse is generated by the revolution of the engine, so as to cut off the energizing of the ignition coil when the result of the above count of pulses coincides with the present ignition timing. Consequently, the ignition timing can be shifted with response to the running condition of the engine and the necessary energizing time duration for the ignition coil can be secured by correcting the energizing timing with response to the above shift of the ignition timing, so as to insure the energized time duration required for the ignition coil with a comparatively simple configuration.

    摘要: A device for detecting whether any of a plurality of fuses has blown out. The fuses are connected between a first terminal of an electrical source and a number of loads, the loads also being connected to the other terminal of the source. The device comprises one light emitting element for each fuse. One end of the light emitting element is connected to a junction between the fuse and its load. The other ends of the light emitting elements are all connected together to one terminal of a switch, having another terminal connected to the other terminal of the electrical source. When the switch is closed, the light emitting element corresponding to any fuse which has blown out is not lit.

The outlet end of the flame passageway is located about a "small-clearance-volume" portion of the main combustion chamber so that the flame fronts travel from the small-clearance-volume portion toward a "major-clearance-volume" portion. The small-clearance-volume portion largely corresponds to a squish-quench area in a combustion chamber of the turbulence type such as the wedge combustion chamber.
