Abstract: According to one configuration, an inductor device comprises core material and at least a first electrically conductive path. The core material is fabricated from magnetically permeable material. The first electrically conductive path extends axially through the core material from a proximal end of the inductor device to a distal end of the inductor device. The core material is operable to confine first magnetic flux generated from first current flowing through the first electrically conductive path. The inductor device further includes a gap in the core material. The gap (gas or solid material) has a different magnetic permeability than the core material. Inclusion of the gap in the core material provides a way to tune an inductance of the inductor device and increase a magnetic saturation level of the inductor device. The core material includes any number of electrically conductive paths and corresponding gaps.

Abstract: A transformer and a DC-DC converter for on-board charger using the same are provided. The transformer includes a magnetic core, a winding region, a primary coil and a secondary coil. The magnetic core includes two cover plates and a winding column disposed between the two cover plates. The winding region is disposed on the winding column and includes a plurality of winding units. The primary coil is wound in a part of the winding units to form a primary winding of the transformer. The secondary coil is wound in the other part of the winding units to form a secondary winding of the transformer. The primary and secondary coils are at least partially wound alternately in part of the plurality of winding units, and a number of winding layers along an axial direction of the winding column in each winding unit is less than or equal to two.

Abstract: To provide a solenoid, a solenoid valve, and a damper in which when the amount of current supplied to the solenoid is small, the thrust of the solenoid to bias an object in one direction can be made small, and at the same time, even when the solenoid is not energized, the object can be biased in the same direction as that of the thrust. The solenoid includes a coil, a first movable iron core and a second movable iron core that are attracted in a direction away from each other by energizing the coil, a coil spring that biases the first movable iron core toward the second movable iron core, and a leaf spring that restricts the approach of the first movable iron core and the second movable iron core.
