摘要: An induction system for an outboard motor of the type having a water propulsion device powered by an internal combustion engine positioned within an engine compartment defined by a cowling, is disclosed. The induction system includes a cover extending over a top end of the engine. The cover defines an air duct leading from an intake chamber defined by the cowling to an intake pipe of the air intake system of the engine. The cover also defines an air duct in communication with the engine compartment and leading to an exhaust chamber defined by the cowling. A pair of intake ports lead through a cover of the cowling from the intake chamber, and an exhaust port leads through the cover from the exhaust chamber. The intake ports are positioned forward of the exhaust port when considering the forward movement of a watercraft which is powered by the motor.

摘要: A fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine of the type utilized to power an outboard motor of a watercraft is disclosed. The engine is oriented with its crankshaft vertically extending, such that the engine has a top and a bottom, a first end and a second end, and a side between the ends. An air delivery passage extends generally from the first end along said side to an intake passage leading through the engine to a combustion chamber therein. A fuel injector is positioned along the side of the engine and arranged to deliver fuel into air flowing through the passage. In one arrangement, the fuel injector is connected to an intake manifold defining at least a part of the air delivery passage and is adapted to deliver fuel opposite the flow of air through the passage at the point of delivery. In a second embodiment, the fuel injector is positioned between the air delivery passage and the side of the engine. In this embodiment, the fuel injector is preferably arranged to deliver fuel perpendicular to the flow of air through the passage.

摘要: An impact-resistant display apparatus is constituted by a display panel, a drive circuit for driving the display panel, a face plate disposed in front of the display panel, and a support member for supporting the display panel and the drive circuit. The display apparatus further includes a first elastic member between a rear side of the display panel and the support member, and a second elastic member between a front side of the display panel and the face plate. The first and second elastic members may preferably respectively define and almost closed space together with adjacent associate members so as to provide an air damper-effect.

摘要: An electric circuit substrate having a multilayer structure is constituted from at least three wiring layers including an outermost wiring layer, at least one first inner wiring layer disposed under the outermost wiring layer, and a second inner wiring layer disposed under the at least one first inner wiring layer, each provided with a prescribed conductor pattern, respectively. In the multilayer structure, the outermost wiring layer has an alignment mark, the above-mentioned at least one first inner wiring layer has a blank portion free from its conductor pattern in a position immediately under the alignment mark, and the second inner wiring layer has an entire solid portion of its conductor pattern in a position immediately under the blank portion. The above multilayer structure including the alignment mark is effective in preventing recognition error or recognition failure of the alignment mark, thus allowing accurate positioning of the electric circuit substrate.

摘要: A liquid crystal apparatus is constituted by a display device for data display, a drive circuit unit for driving the display device, a unit substrate for supplying electric signals to the drive circuit unit, and a tape-form film carrier comprising an insulating substrate and a conductor covered with the insulating substrate for connecting the display device, the drive circuit unit and the unit substrate. A part of the film carrier is provided with a blank portion where the insulating substrate is locally removed to absorb a stress applied to the film carrier. A unit substrate constituting the drive circuit unit is screwed to a supporting member so as to allow a movement thereof relative to the supporting member by use of a space regulating means surrounding the screw shank.

摘要: A water circulation system of a marine engine improves the consistency of engine combustion by stabilizing the temperature of water flowing through the engine water jacket and by heating the intake manifold to a temperature within a desired temperature range. The desired temperature range is defined so as to optimize fuel vaporization without significantly affecting the volumetric efficiency of the engine. The water circulation system includes a control valve which directs water flow through the circulation system according to the water temperature exiting the engine water jacket. The valve recirculates water between the engine water jacket and a recirculation path until the water temperature reaches a predetermined lower temperature limit. The control valve then allows a portion of the water to flow through a heating jacket around the intake manifold to heat the intake manifold. If the temperature of the recirculating water reaches a predetermined upper temperature limit, the control valve directs all of the water through the heating jacket until the temperature of the water exiting the engine water jacket falls below the upper temperature limit. In this manner, the water circulation system generally stabilizes the water temperature in the engine water jacket and heats the intake manifold to a temperature generally within the upper and lower temperature limits.
