Abstract:
Two-layered or three-layered polymer tubing for use as a pressurized fluid conduit in automobiles can be either walled or have walls continuously or partially corrugated. The tubing has an outer layer of a hard polymer molding material and an inner layer of a soft rubber-like polymer or a polymer mixture. The inner layer can be provided on the innerside with a layer of a thermoplastic adhesion-modified elastomer composition. The a materials are selected for the layers to provide a so-called “hard-soft-combination”. The rubber-like polymer composition has a hardness in the range of 30 Shore A to 60 Shore D, especially of about 30 Shore A to 90 Shore A, the compositions being selected so that they are processable by coextrusion or the so-called conex method and adhere directly to each other non-positively or positively fitted, i. e. without additional bonding agent, without delaminating.
Abstract:
What is described are pyrazolyloxyphenyl derivatives of the formula (I) and their use as herbicides. In this formula (I), R1, R2 and R3 denote various radicals, and A is a cyclic radical from the group consisting of phenyl, pyridyl, thienyl and pyrazolyl.
Abstract:
A position transducer device is provided for detecting the position of a position transmitter. The position transducer device comprises a housing extending in a longitudinal direction and a measuring sensor arranged in the housing and extending parallel to the longitudinal direction. The position transmitter is coupled to the measuring sensor in a non-contacting manner. The outer surface of the housing is designed such that it can be enclosed at least partially by a fixing receiving means for fixing the housing to an application. The housing can be rotated relative to the position transmitter in the fixing receiving means in order to enable adjustment of the distance between the measuring sensor and the position transducer.
Abstract:
A description is given of 4-trifluoromethylpyrazolyl-substituted pyridines and pyrimidines of formula (I) and of their use as herbicides. In this formula (I) R1, R2, R3 and R4 are various radicals, A is an aromatic or heteroaromatic radical, and Z is a nitrogen or carbon atom.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to in vitro cultured skin substitutes, and in particular to in vitro cultured skin substitutes that have improved barrier function. In some embodiments, improved barrier function is a result of improved culture conditions, while in other embodiments, improved barrier function results from genetic modification of keratinocytes. Improved culture conditions to improve barrier function include organotypic culture in the presence of linoleic acid and/or linoleic acid at about 75% humidity. Suitable genetic modifications for improving barrier function includes transfection with a DNA construct capable of expressing GKLF.
Abstract:
In an arrangement for handling the fuel in a common rail fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine, wherein fuel is supplied from a tank via a fuel delivery line including a first fuel filter, a low-pressure pump arranged upstream from the first fuel filter and a high pressure pump arranged downstream of the first fuel filter to a high pressure fuel rail from which the fuel is distributed to the cylinder of the engine, a bypass line extends from the high pressure fuel rail to the fuel delivery line and includes a second fuel filter and a heat exchanger which is operatively connected to a cooling circuit of an air conditioning system or to a cooling circuit of the internal combustion engine.
Abstract:
The invention relates to medical products with at least one biocompatible biostable polysulfone coating with which the elution kinetics of the incorporated and/or deposited at least one antiproliferative, antiinflammatory, antiphlogistic and/or antithrombotic active agent can be controlled via the admixing of at least one hydrophilic polymer in a suitable amount and as well as an local separation of different active agents and active agent combinations respectively can be achieved by means of the layer system of biostable polymers, methods of manufacturing these medical products as well as their use especially in the form of stents for prevention of restenosis.
Abstract:
A metallic overcoat is shown for use on the termination of a thick film heater. The invention is specifically useful for reducing overall wall thickness on thick film heaters used in the injection molding industry. The overcoat is placed over at least the termination point of the heating element with access holes for the termination. Thereafter, holes are drilled parallel to the heater axis for the insertion of power leads. The overcoat further provides insulation for better efficiency and mechanical protection for the heating element.
Abstract:
A semi-active suspension control system comprises exclusively chassis acceleration sensors (S.sub.1 to S.sub.3) as sensors (1) for obtaining the information for the damping force control. The output signals of these sensors are analyzed in a filter (3), the transmission behavior of which is in linear approximation to the transmission behavior of a discrete Kalman filter, when concentrating on the frequency range between the natural chassis frequency and the natural wheel frequency.
Abstract:
Copolymer-modified nanoparticles produced by a process in which nanoparticles are ablated by laser radiation from a surface of a substrate in a liquid include an amphiphilic copolymer.
