Abstract: The following generally relates to using Augmented Reality (AR) to enhance the in-vehicle experience. In some examples, AR techniques are applied to provide AR indications of vehicle safety indicia to alert vehicle occupants to information that may not otherwise be perceptible. In other example, AR techniques are applied to provide emergency vehicle warnings to improve the likelihood of safe responses thereto. In yet other examples, AR techniques are applied to generated personalized outdoor displays, for example, to ameliorate conditions that may impair safe operation of a vehicle.

Abstract: The following generally relates to using Augmented Reality (AR) to enhance pedestrian navigation. In some examples, AR techniques are applied to provide AR indications of a location of a group member that includes two or more AR devices. In these examples, AR techniques may be applied to determine a relative position of the group member and/or provide navigational guidance to the group member. In other examples, AR techniques are applied to provide AR-assisted pedestrian guidance. In these examples, AR techniques may be applied to present an AR display that includes information for a point of interest along a route.

Abstract: The following relates generally to providing a virtual insurance kiosk within a virtual environment. In some embodiments, an insurance server receives authentication credentials of a user device attempting to interact with the virtual insurance kiosk. The insurance server may authenticate the user device and establish a secure connection to the user device. The insurance server may then provide an insurance service to the user device. The following also relates generally to providing a secure virtual mall within a virtual environment. In some embodiments, a mall server receives authentication credentials from a user device and/or a vender server. The mall server may then authenticate the user to establish secure connection(s) to the user device and/or vender server. The mall server may process transactions between the user device and vender server, such as by underwriting insurance products related to the transactions.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of monitoring one or more batteries of an electric vehicle (EV) includes (i) detecting an indication of a battery failure event for an electric vehicle; (ii) determining a response to the battery failure event based upon the indication; (iii) determining, based upon the battery failure event, an assistance location for the electric vehicle; (iv) generating a route from a location of an autonomous vehicle to the assistance location for the electric vehicle; and (v) transmitting a command to the autonomous vehicle to drive to the assistance location for the electric vehicle, wherein the command includes the response to the battery failure event and the route from the location of the autonomous vehicle to the assistance location.

Abstract: Methods and systems that manage building code compliance are provided. A smart or interconnected home may be populated with multiple smart or other devices that are in wired or wireless communication with a central controller. The smart devices may be covered by an insurance policy, such as a homeowners, renters, or personal articles insurance policy. The controller may receive building code compliance information associated with the smart devices, and may update an inventory list to include the building code compliance information. The controller may detect that one or more devices do not comply with building code requirements. The controller may transmit a notification to a customer about possible corrective actions to remedy non-compliant conditions and to facilitate building code compliance. The smart devices may be associated with appliances, electronics, wiring, pipes, ducts, or other equipment or personal belongings. Insurance discounts may be provided based upon the building code compliance functionality.

Abstract: Managing the operation of devices within a home or other property based upon electrical usage data. With customer knowledge or consent, a home controller may retrieve and analyze electrical usage data corresponding to a device, such as by comparing it to certain threshold data. If the analysis results in a trigger condition, the controller may generate a command, and transmit the command to the device for implementation, allowing modification of device operation to address any issues indicated in the electrical usage data. The controller may notify a home owner/occupant. As a result, faulty devices may be managed prior to their faults causing damage to the device and/or the property, and/or property owners may be timely prompted to investigate, repair, and/or replace a failing device. Insurance discounts may be provided based upon the risk mitigation/prevention functionality.
