Abstract:
An apparatus for conducting heat from a computer component to a heat sink. The invention may include a thermal interface material (TIM). The invention may further include a seal or gasket that at least partially encloses the TIM. The gasket may facilitate retaining the TIM within its sidewall, and thus in place on or near a computer component. Generally, the gasket may be placed between the computer component (or a silicon board or other material upon which the computer component is located) and a heat sink. An insert may be placed within the gasket and define an aperture. The chip seats in the aperture and thus is spatially located with respect to the insert. The TIM abuts both the computer component and a heat sink. A desiccant may be located within the gasket and absorb any moisture diffusing or migrating through the gasket.
Abstract:
A tool and method for developing video games is provided. The method includes selecting images for use in the video game, and selecting activities related to the video game. The activities each have a type and at least some of the activities are related to the images. The method includes storing data associated with the activities, and executing an engine that reads the data associated with the activities and uses the images to play the video game.
Abstract:
A method for multiplayer gaming on mobile handsets is provided. The method includes a first user entering inputs via a keypad of a first mobile device to play a first game. The method includes communicating the first user's keypad inputs on the first mobile device to a second mobile device. The method includes a second user entering inputs via a keypad of the second mobile device to play a second game. The first and second games being substantially the same games provided on separate mobile devices. The method includes communicating the second user's keypad inputs on the second mobile device to the first mobile device, the first game using the keypad inputs from the second mobile device and the second game using the keypad inputs from the first mobile device to enable multiplayer gaming between the first and second games.
Abstract:
The invention generally relates to a method for pulmonary delivery of therapeutic, prophylactic and diagnostic agents to a patient wherein the agent is released in a sustained fashion, and to particles suitable for use in the method. In particular, the invention relates to a method for the pulmonary delivery of a therapeutic, prophylactic or diagnostic agent comprising administering to the respiratory tract of a patient in need of treatment, prophylaxis or diagnosis an effective amount of particles comprising a therapeutic, prophylactic or diagnostic agent or any combination thereof in association with a charged lipid, wherein the charged lipid has an overall net charge which is opposite to that of the agent upon association with the agent. Release of the agent from the administered particles occurs in a sustained fashion.
Abstract:
A method for labeling fabrics, such as fabric garments, and a heat-transfer label (311) well-suited for use in said method. In one embodiment, the heat-transfer label (311) comprises (i) a support portion (313), the support portion (313) comprising a carrier (315) and a release layer (317); (ii) a wax layer (319), the wax layer overcoating the release layer (317); and (iii) a transfer portion (321), the transfer portion (321) comprising an adhesive layer (323) printed directly onto the wax layer (319) and an ink design layer (325) printed directly onto the adhesive layer (323). Each of the adhesive layer (323) and the ink design layer includes a non-cross-linked PVC resin. The ink design layer may be screen printed onto the adhesive layer (323) or may be printed onto the adhesive layer (323) using thermal transfer printing, ink jet printing or laser printing.
Abstract:
Inhalation device and associated method for facilitating inhalation by a patient of powder medicaments contained in a receptacle. The inhalation device has a chamber for receiving the receptacle. A ring is circumferentially coupled to an inner surface of the chamber to achieve a higher reproducible emitted dose of medicament from the receptacle. The inhalation device also includes an improved implement for puncturing the receptacle, requiring less force and experiencing fewer failures.
Abstract:
An integrated circuit chip mounting structure includes a chip carrier electrically connected to a circuit board with an integrated circuit chip mounted on the chip carrier. In addition, a thermally conductive device is thermally connected to the chip and a set of compressible support members are provided to transmit a portion of an applied compressive load from the thermally conductive device to the chip and chip carrier.
Abstract:
This invention pertains to a method for flavoring an ingestible composition with a flavoring agent in organoleptically purified form, unaccompanied by substances of natural origin present in mango. The flavoring agent may be used in a wide variety of ingestible vehicles such as chewing gum compositions, hard and soft confections, dairy products, beverage products including juice drinks and juice products, green vegetable and chicken products, and the like. The present invention also pertains to an ingestible composition comprising an ingestible vehicle and an organoleptically effective amount of the purified flavoring agent. The present invention further pertains to ethyl 3-mercaptobutyrate represented by the formula, CH3(SH)CHCH2COOCH2CH3, in purified form, unaccompanied by substances of natural origin present in mango. The present invention still further pertains to a method to confer, enhance, improve, or modify the odor properties of a perfuming composition or a perfumed article, which comprises adding to the perfuming composition or perfumed article, ethyl 3-mercaptobutyrate represented by the formula, CH3(SH)CHCH2COOCH2CH3. The present invention still further pertains to a perfuming composition or a perfumed article containing as an active perfuming ingredient, ethyl 3-mercaptobutyrate represented by the formula, CH3(SH)CHCH2COOCH2CH3. The present invention also pertains to a method for preparing ethyl 3-mercaptobutyrate which comprises reacting ethyl crotonate with sodium hydrogen sulfide and sodium bicarbonate to form the disulfide dimer of ethyl 3-mercaptobutyrate followed by reducing the disulfide dimer to yield ethyl 3-mercaptobutyrate.
Abstract:
A product containerisation system created by attaching at least one product (X) to one side of a planar sheet (103) by overlaying a polymeric film (101) over the product and one side of the planar sheet by a skin packing process, and there folding the planar sheet into an erected container or package, in which the polymeric film is selected and arranged such that twisting the product (X) and overlying film about an axis (105) transverse to the planar sheet shears the polymeric film generally around the perimeter (107) of the product adjacent the planar sheet.
Abstract:
A cooling system for an electronic component on a component carrier is provided. The system includes a frame, a spray manifold, and a sealing member. The frame has an opening and is connectable to the component carrier so that an annular area is defined between the opening and the electronic component. The spray manifold is sealed over the opening to define a spray area over a back surface of the electronic component. The spray manifold sprays a cooling fluid on the back surface. The sealing member seals the annular region so that input/output connectors on the component carrier are isolated from the cooling fluid.
