摘要: Neuroprotective agents based on inhibition of kainic acid neurotoxicity and compounds useful as neuroprotective agents based on inhibition of kainic acid neurotoxicity. An inhibitors of kainic acid neurotoxicity, comprising as an active ingredient a pyridothiazine derivative represented by the following general formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pyridothiazine derivative represented by the following general formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof: ##STR1## wherein symbols in the formula have the following respective meanings: the ring A: a pyridine ring; ##STR2## R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 may be the same or different and each represent a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aryl, carboxyl or lower alkoxycarbonyl group which may have substituent(s), or are not present, with the proviso that R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 may together form a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group which may have nitrogen atoms as another hetero atom, may be fused with a benzene ring and may have a lower alkyl group as a substituent.

摘要: A honeycomb structure includes honeycomb units. Each of the honeycomb units has a longitudinal direction and includes inorganic particles, an inorganic binder, and cell walls defining cells extending along the longitudinal direction from one end face to another end face. The honeycomb units are bonded together via an adhesive such that each longitudinal direction is substantially in parallel. An amount of ammonia desorbed per unit mass of the honeycomb units is about 5 to about 100 times greater than an amount of ammonia desorbed per unit mass of the adhesive. The amount of ammonia desorbed per unit mass of the honeycomb units and the amount of ammonia desorbed per unit mass of the adhesive are measured by an NH3-TPD method.

摘要: A honeycomb structure is manufactured by molding a pillar-shaped honeycomb molded body having a large number of cells disposed in parallel with one another in a longitudinal direction with a cell wall therebetween by extrusion-molding a raw material composition including a ceramic powder and a binder, and carrying out a firing treatment on the honeycomb molded body to manufacture a honeycomb fired body. A plurality of the honeycomb fired bodies are provided, and both end faces of each of the plurality of the honeycomb fired bodies are hold with a holding member after positioning the plurality of the honeycomb fired bodies on a predetermined position. An adhesive paste is injected into a gap between the plurality of honeycomb fired bodies held on the predetermined position. The adhesive paste is dried and solidified to form an adhesive layer.

摘要: A honeycomb filter includes cell walls and cells. The cell walls extend along a longitudinal direction of the honeycomb filter to define the cells between the cell walls. The cells have first cells and second cells each having a substantially square shape in a cross-section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. The first cells are sealed and the second cells are open at one end face of the honeycomb filter. The substantially square shape of the first cells includes a first side whose extended line intersects a second side except for corner portions of the substantially square shape of the second cells. The second side and the extended line of the first side are substantially perpendicular.

摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a honeycomb structural body which is low in pressure loss and can prolong a period up to a regenerating process. The present invention is directed to a columnar honeycomb structural body comprising a large number of through holes placed in parallel with one another in a length direction with wall portion interposed therebetween, wherein: each of the through holes has one of ends sealed; one end face of the through hole differs in opening area from the other end face thereof; a ceramic material which constitutes the wall portion has an average pore diameter in a range from 5 to 30 μm; and the rate of capacity of micro pores each having a pore diameter two or more times larger than the average pore diameter is set to 30% or less of the capacity of the entire micro pores.

The honeycomb units include at least: ceramic particles; and at least one of inorganic fibers and whiskers. At least one of the honeycomb units has a cross section perpendicular to a longitudinal direction thereof, the cross section having an area greater than or equal to about 5 cm2 and less than or equal to about 50 cm2. For each of the honeycomb units, the ratio of the thermal conductivity of the honeycomb unit to the thermal conductivity of the seal material layer falls within the range of about 0.2 to about 5.
