Abstract:
One variation of an interaction module for a sexual stimulation device, including: a support structure including a metallic material and defining a bore; a vibratory actuator including a rotary motor, an output shaft, and an eccentric mass coupled to the output shaft; a housing enclosing the eccentric mass and the output shaft; a first isolator arranged over the vibratory actuator opposite the eccentric mass and configured to pivotably couple the vibratory actuator to the bore of the support structure; a second isolator coupled to the vibratory actuator adjacent the first isolator and configured to contact an interior surface of the bore of the support structure to define a pivot endstop for the vibratory actuator; and a sheath arranged over the vibratory actuator and a portion of the support structure.
Abstract:
Devices, systems and methods are described which control blood pressure and nervous system activity by stimulating baroreceptors. By selectively and controllably activating baroreceptors and/or nerves, the present invention reduces blood pressure and alters the sympathetic nervous system; thereby minimizing deleterious effects on the heart, vasculature and other organs and tissues. A baroreceptor activation device or other sensory activation device is positioned near a dermal bone to provide the treatment.
Abstract:
An easily dismantled continuous passive motion system for rehabilitating a knee joint with the drive applied directly to the knee joint portion of the device.
Abstract:
This is a Sexual Therapy Device. It is made of a base made of a firm material and covered with a soft covering. Attached at various locations are connectors that either cylinder extenders or dildo shape extensions can be connected to. With the various locations of the connectors a large number of penetration positions can be achieved to maximize the pleasure and sexual therapy of the user.
Abstract:
Intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) devices for facilitating fluid circulation in a body are disclosed. The disclosed devices provide compression by alternating between a higher pressure and a lower or no pressure in an associated inflatable cuff. The devices are configured to have a source providing air at a pressure less than 130% of the higher pressure at the inflatable cuff. A vent valve is coupled to a passageway communicating with the pressure source whereby the vent valve can be opened when a lower or no pressure condition in the inflatable cuff is desired, and can close when the higher pressure is desired. With this arrangement, the vent valve not only vents the inflatable cuff, but also vents continuing air flow from the source of air pressure.
Abstract:
Methods and a device for improving wound healing and for improving the effects of rehabilitative therapies in patients with cognitive and motor deficits are provided. Repeated regimens of remote ischemic conditioning are performed. Markers of ischemia are monitored in the tissue. The remote ischemic conditioning regimen may be adjusted based on the monitoring results. The remote ischemic conditioning regimen can be performed at a hospital, medical clinic, healthcare facility, or at a subject's home.
Abstract:
One variation of a device for sexual stimulation includes: an interaction module, a power module, and a control module. The interaction module includes a housing, a female power port supported by the housing, and a first and a second vibratory actuator coupled to the female power port, isolated from the housing, and supported by the housing. The power module includes a battery coupled to a male power port. The male power port is configurable between: a first configuration in which the male power port transiently couples to an external power source to charge the battery; and a second configuration in which the male power port transiently retains the interaction module and powers the vibratory actuators to generate haptic vibratory stimulation. The control module configured to control vibratory magnitude settings and vibratory pattern settings of the vibratory actuators based upon inputs at input regions.
