摘要: The present invention relates to peptides and compositions suitable for use in inducing anti-HIV-1 antibodies. The compositions comprise HIV-1 gp41 membrane proximal external region (MPER) peptide-liposome conjugates for induction of broadly reactive anti-HIV-1 antibodies. The invention also relates to methods of inducing neutralizing anti-HIV-1 antibodies using such compositions.

摘要: The present invention provides a protein- and peptide-free conjugate comprising a synthetic carbohydrate and a carrier molecule, wherein the synthetic carbohydrate is a Streptococcus pneumoniae type 3 capsular polysaccharide related carbohydrate and the carrier molecule is a glycosphingolipid. Said conjugate and pharmaceutical composition thereof are useful for immunization against diseases associated with Streptococcus pneumoniae, and more specifically against diseases associated with Streptococcus pneumoniae type 3.

摘要: The present invention regards nanoparticles comprising a sterol and a component derived from Quillaja saponaria Molina selected from quillaja acid and quillaja saponin, which nanoparticles do not comprise a phospholipid. It also relates to a composition comprising the nanoparticles, and the use thereof as adjuvant, especially in vaccines, as carriers for amphipathic or hydrophobic molecules and as agents for treatment of cancer. Further, it regards a method for producing the phospholipid-free nanoparticles, a method for the treatment of cancer and a method for assessing the applicability of the cancer treating method.

摘要: Methods and kits for immunizing animals (e.g. mammals) against viral antigens, including herpes-simplex virus type 2 are provided. The protective immune response elicited by the methods and kits is characterized by robust humoral, cellular, and mucosal immunity. In particular, a heterologous immunization method comprising a priming DNA vaccine encoding an antigen and a boosting protein vaccine, in which the protein form of the antigen is encapsulated in liposomes is provided. Methods of preventing primary acute, latent and recurrent viral infections, such as that caused by HSV-2 virus, and methods of providing passive protective immunity against a viral pathogen such as HSV-2 virus to a mammal are also disclosed.

摘要: The present invention relates to nanoparticles for the targeted delivery of antigen to liver cells, in particular, liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSEC) and/or Kupffer cells, and for the in vivo generation of regulatory T cells, notably CD4+CD25+FOXP3+ regulatory T cells (Treg). The invention provides pharmaceutical compositions and methods for the prevention and treatment of autoimmune diseases, allergies or other chronic inflammatory conditions, and for generation of regulatory T cells. The nanoparticles used in the invention comprise a) a micelle comprising an amphiphilic polymer rendering the nanoparticle water-soluble, and b) a peptide comprising at least one T cell epitope associated with the outside of the micelle. The micelle may or may not comprise a solid hydrophobic core.

摘要: Combination vaccine compositions as well as methods for their manufacture have a relatively low amount of antigen and/or a relatively low amount of aluminium, but they can nevertheless have immunogenicity which is comparable to combination vaccines with a relatively high amount of antigen and/or a relatively high amount of aluminium. Aluminium-free combination vaccine compositions are also provided e.g. compositions which are adjuvanted with an oil-in-water emulsion adjuvant.

摘要: The present invention provides, among other things, nanoparticle compositions including a plurality of nanoparticles, each of which is comprised of a biodegradable or biocompatible polymer arranged in a nanoparticle structure defining an internal lumen and an external surface and one or more of a preparation of hydrophilic cellular components and a preparation of hydrophobic cellular components. In some embodiments, the preparation of hydrophilic cellular components is encapsulated within the internal lumen and the preparation of hydrophobic cellular components is associated with the external surface. Various methods of making and using disclosed nanoparticle compositions are also provided.
