Provided is a nonwoven material, including a spunbound layer including fibers having an average diameter between 12 and 25 microns, a meltblown layer adjacent to the spunbound layer and including fibers having an average diameter between 2 and 5 microns, and an electrospun layer adjacent to the meltblown layer and including nanofibers having an average diameter between 100 and 400 nanometers. Also provided is an electrospun layer having a basis weight of at least 0.2 gsm, the total basis weight of the meltblown layer is at least twice that of the electrospun layer, and the total basis weight of all of the meltblown layers in the material constitutes at least 3% of the basis weight of the material. Further provided is a spunbound layer that may have an average pore size between 70 and 120 microns, the meltblown layer may have an average pore size between 15 and 25 microns, and the electrospun layer may have an average pore size between 500 nanometers and 2 microns.

Described is an adsorption filter material, in particular for NBC protective apparel, preferably for wearing next to the skin, in particular as an undergarment (underwear), wherein the adsorption filter material has a multilayered construction, wherein the multilayered construction comprises a first textile sheet material, a second textile sheet material and an adsorption layer disposed between the first and the second textile sheet materials, wherein the adsorption layer includes discrete, in particular grain-shaped, preferably sphere-shaped, sorbent particles, preferably based on activated carbon, adsorbing chemical and/or biological poison and noxiant materials, in particular warfare agents. The adsorption filter material is characterized in that the first textile sheet material and the second textile sheet material are each adapted to be elastic in at least one direction, preferably in both directions, and/or in that the first textile sheet material and the second textile sheet material have at least essentially the same elasticity properties. The adsorption material combines a high wearing comfort with excellent protection with regard to chemical poisons.

The geocomposite mat includes a pre-formed woven or non-woven geotextile, having a thickness of about 6 mm to about 200 mm, and having, a porosity sufficient to receive a powdered or granular contaminant-reactive material, contaminant-sorptive material, or a contaminant-neutralizing material (hereinafter collectively referred to as “contaminant-reactant material” or “contaminant-reactive material”) throughout its thickness, or in any portion of the thickness across its entire major surface(s). The powdered or granular contaminant-reactive material is disposed within the pores of the previously formed, high loft geotextile mat to surround the fibers, e.g., by vacuum or vibrating the high loft mat while in contact with the contaminant-reactive material to allow the powdered or granular contaminant-reactive material to flow by gravity into the pores of the previously formed geotextile and vibrational forces. Liquid-permeable cover sheets are adhered to the upper and lower major surfaces of the filled geotextile to prevent the powdered or granular material from escaping from the geotextile during transportation and installation.

The universal porous unit can be used in home, clinical, industrial, and construction settings to serve as a disposable, easy-to-use, compact, economical filtering, screening, or straining device.
