摘要: The present technique provides for the use of spectroscopic probes, such as Raman probes, within the conduits of a polyolefin production system. The Raman probe or other spectroscopic probes may be used to obtain spectroscopic measurements of the contents of the conduits. The spectroscopic measurements may be processed and analyzed to determine the composition of the conduit contents. In addition, the spectroscopic measurements may be used in conjunction with correlations or other statistical models to determine one or more properties of interest of a constituent of the conduit contents. One or more processes upstream and/or downstream of the conduit may be adjusted in response to the determined composition or composition properties.

摘要: A hydrogen producing apparatus comprising: a reforming section having a reforming catalyst which causes a reaction between a carbon-containing organic compound as a feedstock and water; a feedstock supply section for supplying the feedstock to the reforming section; a water supply section for supplying water to the reforming section; a heating section for heating the reforming catalyst; a shifting section having a shift catalyst which causes a shift reaction between carbon monoxide and water contained in a reformed gas supplied from the reforming section; and a purifying section having a purifying catalyst which causes oxidation or methanation of carbon monoxide contained in a gas supplied from the shifting section, wherein the shift catalyst comprises a platinum group metal and a metal oxide.

摘要: A mass flowmeter system for use in steam reformation of hydrocarbons includes a Coriolis flowmeter in a hydrocarbon feedstock line. The feedstock carbon content is estimated by close approximation, which facilitates selective control operations governing the relative amounts of steam and hydrocarbon materials as they feed a hydrogen processing unit. The relative amounts of steam and hydrocarbon feedstock are adjusted on the basis of real time measurements.

摘要: It was difficult to acquire a good CO cleanup efficiency in a hydrogen refining apparatus, for instance, when the start-up and stop operations are frequently repeated. A hydrogen refining apparatus, including a shifter 3 having a shifting catalyst body 3a containing noble metals and metal oxides, and a reforming section 1 for supplying hydrogen gas containing carbon monoxide to the shifter 3, (1) the temperature of an upstream side of the shifting catalyst body 3a relative to the hydrogen gas flow being substantially between 300null C. and 500null C. and (2) the temperature of a downstream side of the shifting catalyst body 3a relative to the hydrogen gas flow being substantially at 300null C. or less.

摘要: In a heat processing system for a fuel cell comprising a catalytic combustor 23 that has supplied and combusts an anode off gas and a cathode off gas discharged from a fuel cell stack 21, a vaporizer 24 that has introduced therein a combustion gas produced in the catalytic combustor 23, heats a raw fuel for a fuel cell by using the heat of the combustion gas to make it a fuel vapor, an off gas heater that heats the anode off gas and the cathode off gas by a combustion gas used in the vaporizer 24, a reformer 25 that reforms the fuel vapor produced by the vaporizer 24 and provides the fuel gas to the fuel cell stack 21, wherein the combustion gas temperature of the catalytic combustor 23 is set based on the required fuel vapor temperature, the flow volume of the cathode off gas is set and adjusted depending on this combustion gas temperature, and the set combustion gas temperature is compensated based on the required fuel vapor temperature and the actual fuel vapor temperature.

摘要: Process and apparatus for methanol reforming in producing hydrogen gas for electric vehicle fuel cells in which the gas mixture to be reformed is passed through a catalyst-containing reaction compartment. The active length and/or the active inlet cross-section of an intake-side reaction compartment section which is temperature-controlled for high methanol conversion can be set as a function of the throughput of gas mixture to be reformed. Thereby, an essentially constant residence period of the gas mixture to be reformed results in the reaction compartment section which is temperature-controlled for high methanol conversion. The methanol reforming may thus be carried out even in the case of markedly fluctuating throughputs of gas mixture to be reformed with a constant level of methanol conversion rate and constantly low formation of undesirable carbon monoxide.
