Abstract: A metal-supported nonwoven fabric is provided which enables effective synthesis of a target product when used as a catalyst in a flow reaction. The metal-supported nonwoven fabric comprises a nonwoven fabric containing polyolefin fibers or PET fibers, and metal particles. The nonwoven fabric has grafted side chains bound thereto formed of polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyacrylic acid, or a polymer containing functional groups with unshared electron pairs. The metal particles are supported by the grafted side chains via pyrrolidone groups of the polyvinylpyrrolidone, carboxy groups of the polyacrylic acid, or the functional groups with unshared electron pairs.

Abstract: The present invention provides a catalyst module for removing harmful gas, wherein an oxidation reaction or reduction reaction of harmful gas is carried out in a self-heating heating carrier. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the catalyst module for removing harmful gas comprises: a heating carrier composed of an electrically heatable heating body, including one or more flow channels inside, and having a porous structure with pores; and a catalyst region formed on at least a portion of the surface of the heating carrier including the flow channels and containing a catalyst material for promoting a decomposition reaction of harmful gas passing through the flow channels, wherein the catalyst region comprises: a first catalyst layer having a first catalyst material loading amount in the pores of the heating carrier; and a second catalyst layer applied on the inner surface of the heating carrier.

Abstract: An emissions treatment article comprises: a honeycomb body comprising porous ceramic walls having wall surfaces defining a plurality of inner channels; deposits comprising a magnetic susceptor material disposed on one or more portions of the porous ceramic walls; and a catalytic material within the honeycomb body and disposed separate from the deposits of the magnetic susceptor material. A first number of inner channels comprising the deposits comprising the magnetic susceptor material is greater than or equal to a second number of inner channels comprising the catalytic material. In one or more embodiments, the catalytic material is a three-way conversion (TWC) catalytic material. Methods of making and using the same are also provided.

Abstract: A catalyst for purification of exhaust gas containing a phosphorus compound includes: a lower catalyst layer containing at least one of noble metal provided on a refractory three-dimensional structure; and an upper catalyst layer at an inflow side of exhaust gas and an upper catalyst layer at an outflow side of exhaust gas provided on a surface of the lower catalyst layer. The upper catalyst layer at the inflow side and the upper catalyst layer at the outflow side have different concentrations of noble metal. The catalyst has an intermediate zone with a length of 3 to 23% of the overall length of the refractory three-dimensional structure provided between the upper catalyst layer at the inflow side and the upper catalyst layer at the outflow side. The intermediate zone starts from a position 10 to 38% from an end face of the catalyst at the inflow side of exhaust gas.

Abstract: Catalysts useful in transforming biomass to bio-oil are disclosed, as are methods for making such catalysts, and methods of transforming biomass to bio-oil. The catalysts are especially useful for, but are not limited to, microwave- and induction-heating based pyrolysis of biomass, solid waste, and other carbon containing materials into bio-oil. The catalysts can also be used for upgrading the bio-oil to enhance fuel quality.

The oxidation catalyst comprises: a first washcoat region for oxidising carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HCs), wherein the first washcoat region comprises a first platinum group metal (PGM) and a first support material; a second washcoat region for oxidising nitric oxide (NO), wherein the second washcoat region comprises platinum (Pt), manganese (Mn) and a second support material; and a substrate having an inlet end and an outlet end; wherein the second washcoat region is arranged to contact the exhaust gas at the outlet end of the substrate and after contact of the exhaust gas with the first washcoat region.

Abstract: An oxidation catalyst for treating an exhaust gas from a diesel engine and an exhaust system comprising the oxidation catalyst are described. The oxidation catalyst comprises: a first washcoat region for oxidizing carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HCs), wherein the first washcoat region comprises a first platinum group metal (PGM) and a first support material; a second washcoat region for oxidizing nitric oxide (NO), wherein the second washcoat region comprises platinum (Pt), manganese (Mn) and a second support material; and a substrate having an inlet end and an outlet end; wherein the second washcoat region is arranged to contact the exhaust gas at the outlet end of the substrate and after contact of the exhaust gas with the first washcoat region.
