The electronic circuit overlays the snippet image on a second image on the display screen, such that the second image is visible through the snippet image. The electronic circuit receives a selection of a second reference point on the second image corresponding to the first reference point on the first image from the user interface and an indication of acceptable alignment of the two digital images.

The graphics display system processes analog video input, digital video input, and graphics input. The system incorporates a unified memory architecture that is shared by the graphics system, a CPU, and other peripherals. The unified memory architecture uses real time scheduling to service tasks. Critical instant analysis is used to find a schedule for memory usage that does not affect memory requirements of real time tasks while at the same time servicing non-real-time tasks as needed.

Systems and methods for determining priorities of pixel fetch requests of separate requestors in a display control unit. The distance between the oldest pixel in an output buffer and the output equivalent coordinate of the oldest outstanding source pixel read request for each requestor in the display control unit is calculated. Then, a priority is assigned to each requestor based on this calculated distance. If a given requestor lags behind the other requestors based on a comparison of the distance between the oldest pixel and the output equivalent coordinate of the oldest outstanding source pixel read, then source pixel fetch requests for this given requestor are given a higher priority than source pixel fetch requests for the other requestors.

This data is transmitted by the transmitter through TMDS channels #0 to #2. Furthermore, the HDMI® source transmits a general control packet containing sub-signal information indicating whether or not the sub-signal is contained in the transmission pixel data in the control period of a vertical blanking period. The method entails a determination of whether a curvature of a map element associated with the map feature exceeds a predetermined threshold (e.g. whether a rate of change in slope of a path or the change in angular orientation of each successive character in the label exceeds a threshold that is a function of zoom level. If the curvature exceeds the threshold, the label is rendered on the map in a new map location that avoids the map location where the curvature exceeds the threshold.
