    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for providing a motor vehicle for a service, said motor vehicle having a vehicle guidance system designed for fully automated vehicle guidance and being parked in a parking space in a parking environment, in particular which is blocked for people. The method includes



    providing a service space outside the parking environment, which has a parking-environment-side access gate and a staff access that can be accessed from outside the parking environment. The method includes completely automatically driving the motor vehicle through the vehicle guidance system from the parking space via the parking environment into the service space without any people in it, and parking the motor vehicle in the service space, and
    after parking the motor vehicle in the service space, closing the access gate and enabling an entry of a service person through the staff access depending on an authentication process carried out by the service person at an authentication device located outside the service space.

    Abstract: A parking system including a plurality of trays, a plurality of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) configured to transport the plurality of trays, a plurality of bays, and a controller. The controller is configured to determine a bay configuration ratio based on collected parking data, each bay being configured into one of an insert-ready state and a retrieve-ready state in accordance with the bay configuration ratio. When a bay is in the insert-ready state, a tray is placed within the bay and an outward-facing door of the bay is in an open position. When a bay is in the retrieve-ready state, the outward-facing door of the bay is in a closed position, an inward-facing door of the bay is in an open position, and no tray is positioned within the bay.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods of determining a layout for a parking area. In an aspect, a method includes determining environmental information about a surrounding environment of a vehicle moving in a parking area from sensing data provided by a sensing system of the vehicle; extracting parameters associated with parking slots identified from the environmental information; determining layout models for the parking area based at least on the extracted parameters, each layout model including an underlaying parking slot template; assigning to each of the determined layout models a confidence score; and selecting the layout model of the parking area having the highest confidence score as a current layout model used to determine the layout, the selected layout model is updated over time based on the confidence scores assigned to the layout models generated from sensing data collected while the vehicle is moving.
