摘要: Traveling environment information is recognized. A predicted traveling path is calculated based on a driving condition of a vehicle. An oncoming-vehicle predicted traveling path is calculated based on behavior of an oncoming vehicle. It is determined whether the vehicle has an intention to enter a first intersecting road at an intersection. When the vehicle cannot enter the first intersecting road, the predicted traveling path is corrected to a limit traveling path. It is determined whether the oncoming vehicle has an intention to enter a second intersecting road at the intersection. When the oncoming vehicle cannot enter the second intersecting road, the oncoming-vehicle predicted traveling path is corrected to an oncoming-vehicle limit traveling path. The oncoming vehicle is set as a control target against which emergency braking is executed when the predicted traveling path and the oncoming-vehicle predicted traveling path overlap each other at least in part.

摘要: The technology relates to maneuvering a vehicle prior to making a turn from a current lane of the vehicle. As an example, a route that includes making the turn from the lane is identified. An area of the lane prior to the turn having a lane width of at least a predetermined size is also identified. Sensor data identifying an object within the lane is received from a perception system of a vehicle. Characteristics of the object, including a location of the object relative to the vehicle, are identified from the sensor data. The vehicle is then maneuvered through the area prior to making the turn using the identified characteristics.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for navigating based on behaviors of following vehicles. In one implementation, a navigation system for a host vehicle may include at least one processing device. The at least one processing device may be programmed to receive, from a camera, a plurality of images representative of an environment of the host vehicle; analyze the plurality of images to identify a first target vehicle and a second target vehicle in the environment of the host vehicle; analyze the plurality of images to determine a distance between the first target vehicle and the second target vehicle; and determine, from the plurality of images, a time to reach a boundary associated with one of the first target vehicle and the second target vehicle, wherein the determined time exceeds a first threshold and does not exceed a second threshold.

An area of the lane prior to the turn having a lane width of at least a predetermined size is also identified. Sensor data identifying an object within the lane is received from a perception system of a vehicle. Characteristics of the object, including a location of the object relative to the vehicle, are identified from the sensor data. The vehicle is then maneuvered through the area prior to making the turn using the identified characteristics.

In one implementation, such a navigational system may a first output from a first sensor and a second output from a second sensor; identify a target object in the first output; and determine, based on the first output, a detected driving condition associated with the target object and whether the condition triggers a navigational constraint. If the navigational constraint is triggered, the system may cause a first navigational adjustment. If the navigational constraint is not triggered, the system may determine whether a representation of the target object is included in the second output. If the representation of the target object is included in the second output, the system may cause a second navigational adjustment. If the representation of the target object is not included in the second output, the system may forego any navigational adjustments.

摘要: A system for mapping traffic lights and for determining traffic light relevancy for use in autonomous vehicle navigation. The system may include at least one processor programmed to: receive at least one location identifier associated with a traffic light; receive a state identifier associated with the traffic light; receive navigational information indicative of one or more aspects of motion of the first vehicle along the road segment, and determine, based on the navigational information, a lane of travel traversed by the first vehicle along the road segment. The processor may also determine whether the traffic light is relevant to the lane of travel traversed by the first vehicle; update an autonomous vehicle road navigation model relative to the road segment; and distribute the updated autonomous vehicle road navigation model to a plurality of autonomous vehicles.
