摘要: Embodiments of this application provide example communication methods, user equipment, base stations, control plane network elements, and communications systems. One example communication method includes performing, by user equipment (UE), a handover from a first base station to a second base station, where the UE performs communication at the first base station by using a first packet data unit PDU connection via a first forwarding plane network element. The UE can send bearer-less handover indication information to the second base station when performing the handover, where the bearer-less handover indication information is used to instruct the second base station not to establish a connection to the first forwarding plane network element.

摘要: A gateway network element includes a memory and at least one processor. The memory is configured to store a program routine or module. The at least one processor is configured, by executing the program routine or module, to: map a first multi-path transport control protocol (MPTCP) flow to a first evolved packet system (EPS) bearer associated with a first serving base station for the user; map a second MPTCP flow to a second EPS bearer associated with a WiFi access point for the user, each of the first and second MPTCP flows corresponding to a same MPTCP connection for an application; output the first MPTCP flow on the first EPS bearer for delivery to the user through the first serving base station; and output the second MPTCP flow on the second EPS bearer for delivery to the user through the WiFi access point.

摘要: Systems and methods for simultaneous multi-path TCP data flows over a plurality of transport paths, such as satellite and terrestrial networks. One system enables the plurality of paths to be used for increasing the end-to-end transport reliability or throughput of the network, depending on the prevailing reliabilities of the paths. One method includes determining, with a first electronic processor, a first reliability for a first network path configured to carry a first data stream, and a second reliability for a second network path configured to carry a second data stream. The method includes transmitting the first and second reliabilities to a second electronic processor. The method includes receiving a selected mode based on the first and second reliabilities, said mode indicating whether the plurality of paths are being used to enhance reliability or throughput. The method includes receiving the first and second data streams, and processing the first and second data streams based on the selected mode. The method includes determining the relative delays between the plurality of paths and equalizing the delays through buffering, which may be performed either at the transmitter, the receiver or both.

摘要: Methods and systems utilizing receiving, at a first proxy node, a first TCP SYN segment from a first endpoint to establish a TCP connection with a second endpoint, the first TCP SYN segment including a first TCP option having a first option-kind value; transmitting a first spoofed connection request message corresponding to the first TCP SYN segment from the first proxy node to a second proxy node associated with the second endpoint; including, in response to the first TCP option having the first option-kind value, an indication in the first spoofed connection request message that a TCP option having the first option-kind value was included in the first TCP SYN segment; receiving, at the first proxy node, a second TCP SYN segment from a third endpoint to establish a TCP connection with a fourth endpoint, the second TCP SYN segment including a second TCP option having a second option-kind value different from the first option-kind value; transmitting a second spoofed connection request message corresponding to the second TCP SYN segment from the first proxy node to a third proxy node associated with the fourth endpoint; and not including, in response to the second TCP option having the second option-kind value, an indication in the second spoofed connection request message that a TCP option having the second option-kind value was included in the second TCP SYN segment.

摘要: Apparatus and methods for optimizing communications at a communication processor that exchanges communications across a communication link on behalf of an application processor or other local endstation of the communications, wherein the communication link is intermittently inoperative. The application processor is a source or destination of communication packets that traverse the link, while the communication processor transmits and receives the packets for the application processor. Packets are queued at the communication processor for transmit while the link is temporarily inoperative. A filter operates to select obsolete packets for discard. Obsolete packets may include packets for which a subsequent FIN packet (or other termination notice) is received, and may also include packets that have associated deadlines that expire or that will expire before they can be delivered. Obsolete packets may further include packets that have been retransmitted while the link is inoperative.
