    摘要: A movable stage utilizing an electromechanical transducer. An actuator as a drive source thereof is composed of piezoelectric elements, drive member fixed thereto and a movable member friction-coupled with the drive member. When a drive pulse is applied to the piezoelectric element to cause it to show reciprocal displacements at different rates in the thickness direction, the movable member frictionally coupled with the drive member moves in the predetermined direction to move the movable table coupled with the movable member in the predetermined direction. The movable stage comprising the movable table moving in the two axes or three axes can be constituted by providing the actuator in the two axes or three axes crossing with each other.

The electromechanical conversion element further includes bleed flow blocking parts on the electrode forming faces at points closer to the adhesion face than ends of the bonding regions located on the same side as the adhesion face.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a surface modification method allowing the surface of a subject to be more effectively modified. In a pulsed-laser device suitable for use in this surface modification method, a semiconductor laser light source and a modulator constitute a seed light source. The seed light output from the seed light source is amplified by fibers for optical amplification, and the amplified light constitutes output from the pulsed-laser device. The pulsed-laser device allows the pulse width and repetition frequency of the output pulsed-laser light to be varied independently of each other. The pulse width of the pulsed-laser light output from the pulsed-laser device is preferably not more than 10 ns, and the repetition frequency is preferably at least 50 kHz.

    摘要: A drive unit being characterized in that a movable object can be prevented from being tilted when the movable object is stopped using a restricting member. The drive unit comprises a piezoelectric element; a rod provided at an end of the piezoelectric element; a movable object, which is frictionally engaged with the rod and the movable range of which is restricted using the restricting members; and drive pulse generating means for applying drive signals to the piezoelectric element, wherein the drive pulse generating means apply a first wave drive signal for vibrating the rod so that the movable object moves toward the restricting member when the movable object is moved to a position where the movable object is close to the restricting member, and temporarily apply a second wave drive signal for vibrating the rod so that the movable object is moved in a direction of movement away from the restricting member after the movable object is made contact with the restricting member, and then stop the application of the drive signal.
