    摘要: A method of and apparatus for supporting intelligent call routing (ICR) systems multiple vendors, in a vendor neutral fashion using a computer is described. One embodiment has a voice program send a call routing request using an HTTP format to a call routing program. The call routing program decodes the HTTP request and identifies the appropriate vendor-specific communication format and communications method for talking to the ICR system specified in the HTTP request. The call routing program sends the request and receives the answers from the ICR system in the vendor specific formats. The call routing program provides the ICR system response back to the voice program in a vendor neutral fashion. This approach allows voice programs to easily be written that work with multiple ICR systems and allow component reuse of call routing code amongst programs that end up working with multiple systems.

    摘要: A pre-paid subscriber account system for use with wireless telephone systems is disclosed. The system, which monitors a subscriber's call, deducts the cost of the call from the subscriber's pre-paid account in real-time, warns the subscriber during a call when the account is nearing depletion, and terminates the call when the account is depleted. The system can also prevent the initiation of a new call when the account is depleted. The system and method uses signaling techniques that will allow the metering or billing of the call, along with any authorization or restrictions, to be done remotely from the actual switching of the call. Call events or chargeable events are transmitted to the pre-paid control system while the communications path of the call is held at the switching system awaiting control information.

    摘要: In a telecommunication system having a network switch capable of independently controlling inbound and outbound call legs, a system for, and method of, redirecting in-band control of signaling pertaining to a call placed by a calling party and a system for providing automatic call completion from the calling party to a called party. The control redirecting system includes: (1) call control circuitry, associated with the network switch, for routing the call from the calling party to another party through the network switch, the call thereby having an inbound leg from the calling party to the network switch and an outbound leg from the network switch to the other party and (2) call control redirection circuitry for treating the outbound leg of the call as a second inbound leg from the other party to the network switch and monitoring in-band control signals received from the other party via the second inbound leg. The call control redirection circuitry thereby allows the other party to issue the in-band control signals to the call control circuitry.

With dual ringing functionality, a single destination number dialed by a calling party results in ringing of both a Centrex line and a wireless extension of the Centrex line. In one preferred embodiment described herein, the dual ringing functionality is implemented with a network element (e.g., a service node) separate from a switch (e.g., a service signal point). In this way, the dual ringing functionality is available to users of any end office switch that uses the separate network elementnullnot only to those users of a particular type of end office switch. Furthermore, unlike switches, network elements, such as service nodes, typically do not require vendor approval for modification. Additionally, the dual ringing functionality of these preferred embodiments is switch independent and provides an open platform.

    摘要: A private branch exchange (PBX) system includes plural extension telephones divided into extension groups, and a PBX which sends information about one of the extension group to a caller. Plural extension interfaces (I/Fs) coupling the extension telephones to the PBX are divided into groups. The PBX calls each of the extension telephones coupled to all the extension I/Fs of the extension groups corresponding to a call-in signal. In the PBX, a memory stores text data about the extension groups. A controller sends the text data about the extension group to a caller's telephone responsive to the call-in signal. The information can be thus displayed on an extension telephone or an outside-line telephone of the caller.
