    摘要： A method for facilitating damping torsional or ring vibrations of a dynamoelectric machine including a rotor assembly with a first amortisseur bar and a second amortisseur bar extending therefrom and terminating at an endring is provided. The method includes providing a damping assembly, and positioning the damping between the first amortisseur bar and the second amortisseur bar such that the damping assembly contacts the first and second amortisseur bars, and is substantially proximate the endring or alternatively the damping assembly is positioned only over one amortisseur bar.

    摘要： A reversible check valve wherein a valve body defines a pair of end passageways and a central chamber communicating with the latter, the chamber having a rotatable valve plug mounted therein, the plug being made with a port for conveying fluid from one end passageway to the other in either direction. The plug has a seat in its port, and a swingable check valve flap coacts with the seat when the former is seated on the latter to prevent flow of fluid in one direction, while permitting reverse flow of the fluid upon unseating of the flap. The direction of flow is determined by the selective setting of the plug in either of two positions. Moreover, a counterweight is provided on the flap and is arranged to increase the surface area against which the back fluid pressure will act in urging the flap into closed position, the counterweight further preventing chattering of the flap and disposed to urge the flap closed by gravity.

    摘要： The invention relates to a process for making compounds having fatty acid moieties by reacting a fatty acid with a (hydroxyalkyl)amino alkane acid or a (hydroxyalkyl)amine and an aqueous base followed by heating the reaction mixture. The process is particularly useful for the formation of di-fatty acid esters from BES, and tri-fatty acid esters from TES. The reaction parameters can be adjusted to produce useful additional products of the TES-trioleate, including fatty acid amides of mono-, di- and tri-oleoyl-TES.
