摘要: To provide a method of removing a heavy metal contained in a thinned semiconductor substrate.A method of removing a heavy metal in a semiconductor substrate of the present invention comprises: attaching, to a rear surface of the semiconductor substrate, a material that lowers a potential barrier of the rear surface of the semiconductor substrate, on a front surface of which a circuit is to be formed or is formed; applying a thermal treatment to the semiconductor substrate under a condition based on a thickness and a resistivity of the semiconductor substrate; and, depositing the heavy metal in the semiconductor substrate on the rear surface.

摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a spectroscopic method and an apparatus which can measure a trace element accurately with high sensitivity. In order to achieve this object, for example, in Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), a reference spectrum and a measurement spectrum including an impurity spectrum are measured in order to obtain a differential spectrum comprising the impurity spectrum and a flat baseline, correction including a frequency shift of the reference spectrum before calculating a differential spectrum, is performed on the reference spectrum. This makes it possible to remove baseline deformation due to phonon absorbance of silicon included in the conventional differential spectrum, and to obtain an infrared absorption spectrum of the substitutional carbon with high accuracy and high sensitivity.

摘要: The alpha subunits of hemoglobin, which in nature are formed as separate polypeptide chains which bind noncovalently to the beta subunits, are here provided in the form of the novel molecule di-alpha globin, a single polypeptide chain defined by connecting the two alpha subunits either directly via peptide bond or indirectly by a flexible amino acid or peptide linker. Di-alpha globin may be combined in vivo or in vitro with beta globin and heme to form hemoglobin. Di-alpha globin is expressed by recombinant DNA techniques. Di-beta globin may be similarly obtained.

摘要: This invention provides a DNA sequence coding for a cleavage site which is specifically cleaved by blood coagulation Factor Xa, a vector containing such a sequence, and a host organism transformed with such a vector. Preferably, in the vector, the Factor Xa cleavage site coding sequence is fused at one end to a product and at its other end to an ATG codon or a sequence coding for at least part of a host protein.This invention also provides a process, for the production of a desired protein or peptide product in native form, comprising:transforming a host organism with a vector as described above;expressing the desired protein or peptide product as a fusion protein comprising the desired protein or peptide product fused to a Factor Xa cleavage site; anda cleaving the fusion protein with Factor Xa to yield the foreign gene product in native form.

摘要: The alpha subunits of hemoglobin, which in nature are formed as separate polypeptide chains which bind noncovalently to the beta subunits, are here provided in the form of the novel molecule di-alpha globin, a single polypeptide chain defined by connecting the two alpha subunits either directly via peptide bond or indirectly by a flexible amino acid or peptide linker. Di-alpha globin may be combined in vivo or in vitro with beta globin and heme to form hemoglobin. Di-alpha globin is expressed by recombinant DNA techniques. Di-beta globin may be similarly obtained. We further describe the production of tetrameric human hemoglobin and di-alpha/beta.sub.2 hemoglobin in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The synthesis of the protein is directed by a synthetic promotor consisting of two functional parts, an upstream activator sequence (UAS) that confers inducible transcription by galactose from a consensus yeast transcriptional initiation site. The expression construct is designed such that translation is expected to initiate at the same position as the human wild-type genes for .alpha.- and .beta.-globin. Three different types of expression vectors have been used: (1) .alpha.-globin and .beta.-globin contained on two separate plasmids (pGS4688 and pGS4988) in a diploid yeast strain; (2) .alpha.-globin and .beta.-globin each contained on a single plasmid (pGS289 and pGS389) and expressed in either haploid or diploid strains; and (3) di-alpha-globin and beta globin contained on a single plasmid (pGS 3089)and expressed in haploid strains. Finally, we describe the co-expression of alpha and beta globin chains. The chains are folded together and combined intracellularly with heme to form active tetrameric hemoglobin. The hemoglobin may be recovered from the cells' soluble fraction. The invention thus obviates the need to express alpha and beta globin separately, solubilize, renature and purify them, and combine them in vitro with heme to obtain an artificial hemoglobin. By way of comparison, the separately expressed beta globin known in the art is deposited in inclusion bodies. Polycistronic co-expression of alpha and beta globins is particularly preferred.

摘要: A composite filter advantageously employable for dark field observation systems which comprises a dyed organic resin layer provided on a dyed glass plate. The organic resin layer and the glass plate in combination absorb light of a radiation spectrum in the region of longer than 600 nm under the condition that the transmission of light at 650 nm is defined to a level of 1.times.10.sup.-4 % to 5% and the transmission of light at 800 nm is defined to a level of lower than 2.times.10.sup.-5 %. Another dyed glass plate which shows an absorption spectrum having absorption peaks in regions of 480-535 nm and 560-600 nm may be incorporated into the composite filter. The composite filter can be introduced into or provided to an illuminating device.
