    Abstract: A microfluidic cartridge includes a reservoir configured to hold a fluid, a circuit board coupled to the reservoir and including an actuating device, and a valve including a valve body that defines a first opening, a second opening, and a flow path positioned between the first opening and the second opening, a phase change material positioned within the flow path, the phase change material configured to be actuated between a first state and a second state, wherein the first opening is not in fluid communication with the second opening when the phase change material is in the first state, and at least one channel configured to receive at least a portion of the phase change material from the flow path when the phase change material is actuated from the first state to the second state.
