    摘要: The present invention is concerned with a method for the extraction of magnesium from magnesium-containing materials such as magnesite, dolomite and silicates materials like serpentine residues, products from the amphibole or pyroxene group. The magnesium-containing material is first leached in at least one leaching reactor, and subsequently submitted to a series of neutralizing steps in separate reactors under controlled pH and oxydo-reduction potentials. The slurry produced is filtered to produce a substantially pure magnesium chloride solution containing less than 1 ppm of each contaminant present therein.

    摘要: A processes for the regeneration of a silver nitrate and nitric acid based electrolyte as used in certain silver refining processes is based on the hydrolytic removal of undesired metal-based compounds such as water insoluble hydrolysable base metal cations and water insoluble hydrolysable base metal nitrates from which the soluble silver nitrate and nitric acid based electrolyte may be separated. Water is added slowly to a dewatered electrolyte melt held at a predetermined, elevated, temperature while allowing nitric acid thereby formed to evolve and be separated from the melt while the water insoluble base metal salts are formed. The melt is then diluted with water to dilute the silver nitrate contained therein and the insoluble base metal salts are separated from the mixture by filtration.

An apparatus is provided for enabling the person to put on his stockings without bending or stooping; the person thereby avoids the back pain associated with such bending. An arcuate hollow form is releasably attached to the upper edge of a stocking by clamp elements located at spaced points on the hollow form. Elongated straps extend from the clamping points, such that the person can pull the hollow form over the foot and up onto the leg without bending or stooping.

    摘要: A vapor deposition device includes a reactor including a reaction chamber and an injector for injecting vapor into the reaction chamber. The device also includes a manifold for delivering vapor to the injector. The manifold includes a manifold body having an internal bore, a first distribution channel disposed within the body in a plane intersecting the longitudinal axis of the bore, and a plurality of supply channels disposed within the body and in flow communication with the first distribution channel and with the bore. Each of the first supply channels is disposed at an acute angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the bore, and each of the supply channels connects with the bore at a different angular position about the longitudinal axis. The distribution channel (and thus, the supply channels) can be connected with a common reactant source. Related deposition methods are also described.

    摘要: A method for recovering hydrochloric acid and metal oxides from a chloride liquor is described. The method uses a chloride liquor including the metal and mixing the liquor and a matrix solution to produce a reaction mixture, wherein the matrix solution assists oxidation/hydrolysis of the metal with HCl production. In a preferred embodiment the matrix solution includes zinc chloride in various stages of hydration and an oxygen containing gas is added to the mix. A method where the improvement is the mixing of a liquor and a matrix solution where the solution assists hydrolysis of the metal with HCl production is also disclosed. The reactor is a column reactor in a preferred embodiment. Further disclosed is the method of using the matrix solution and a reactor for recovering hydrochloric acid and for oxidizing/hydrolysis of a metal.
