摘要: The invention is directed to a hand held device attachable to a mechanical press to measure press conditions. The device includes signal processing circuitry for processing a corresponding signal developed from an accelerometer. The signal processing circuitry has acceleration processing circuitry for calculating a press acceleration signal, a velocity processing circuitry for calculating a press velocity signal, and displacement processing circuitry for calculating a press displacement signal. Display circuitry is used for displaying at least one of said calculated signals. A multi-contact switch connect the acceleration, velocity, and displacement processing circuitry together permitting an operator to select one of the calculated signals for input to the display circuitry. A method of utilization of the device is also described.

摘要: An apparatus for separating components of batches of waste rubber by pyrolysis comprises at least one heating chamber interconnected with a condenser by a conduit. The heating oven is provided with a plurality of cooperating heating elements, an inlet for receiving waster rubber, and an outlet for egress of pyrolyzed gaseous components. The condenser condenses and separates cooled liquid components from the gaseous components. Separated gaseous components are exhausted from the condenser. Cooled liquid components are conveyed from the condenser to a re-circulation tank. The conduit is provided with a pair of opposed injectors adjacent the outlet of the heating oven. A re-circulation line interconnects the re-circulation tank with the injectors and is provided with a pressurizing device for injecting cooled liquid components through the injectors into the conduit in the form of intersecting liquid laminar sheets thereby applying a vacuum draw on the egressing pyrolyzed gaseous components.

摘要: A radiation crosslinked (50 kGy), pressure-treated UHMWPE material has been developed by applying compressive force on a crosslinked polymer in a direction orthogonal to an axial direction. The deformed material is then cooled while held in a deformed state. The resulting material is anisotropic, with enhanced strength oriented along the axial direction. The directionally engineered material is oxidatively stable even after four weeks of accelerated aging in a pressure vessel containing five atmospheres of oxygen (ASTM F2003). Because of its oxidative stability, the deformation processed material is a suitable candidate for air-permeable packaging and gas sterilization, which has thus far been reserved for remelted highly crosslinked UHMWPEs.

摘要: A rocker-type electrical switch of the kind known as a "quiet switch" includes a manually depressible rocker having two opposed contact surfaces at a small angle to each other from rocker depends a rocker arm terminating in a rocker cam. A slider positioned intermediately of the rocker and the rocker cam is moved back and forth by side-to-side movements of the rocker arm and opens and closes one or more pairs of contacts. Rocker is controlled by a rocker cam leaf spring engaging the rocker cam which spring has a cammed profile traversed by the rocker cam to slow the switch, lock the rocker and provide other desirable effects. The rocker cam spring is housed in a spring chamber longer than itself, allowing the rocker cam spring to float.
