摘要: Methods and devices for thermal processing of multiple samples at the same time are disclosed. The assemblies include carriers and sample processing devices with process arrays that include conduits useful in distributing sample materials to a group pf process chambers located in fluid communication with the main conduits. The sample processing devices may include one or more of the following features in various combinations: deformable seals, process chambers connected to the main conduit by feeder conduits exiting the main conduit at offset locations, U-shaped loading chambers, and a combination of melt bonded and adhesively bonded areas. The carriers may be used to apply selective compression to the sample processing devices.

摘要: Apparatus and methods for positioning the process chambers of microfluidic sample processing devices in the proper focal plane of a microplate reader are disclosed. The apparatus and methods may be adaptable to position the sample processing devices at different heights as may be necessary for processing in different microplate readers. A positioning device is used in connection with the sample processing device to locate the process chambers within the focal plane of the microplate reader.

摘要: The invention is directed to a surface acoustic wave sensor assembly that makes use of a Z-axis conductive layer, such as a Z-axis conductive elastomer, or the like. In particular, a Z-axis conductive elastomer couples a circuit layer to a surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensor in order to form a SAW sensor assembly. For example, a plurality of electrical contacts of the circuit layer can be coupled to a plurality of electrodes of the SAW sensor via the Z-axis conductive elastomer. The Z-axis conductive elastomer provides electrical coupling between the electrical contacts and the electrodes, and also forms a hermetic barrier between the circuit layer and the SAW sensor. In addition, elastic properties of the Z-axis conductive elastomer may reduce pressure exerted on the SAW sensor during use.

摘要: A medical device (20) is provided that is suitable for use in the delivery of active component into or through the skin. The medical device comprises: an extension member (22) having a first major surface (24) and a second major surface (26), the first major surface comprising a first portion and a second portion; an array retaining member (28) extending from the first portion of the first major surface of the extension member, the array retaining member comprising an array surface (30) having at least one microneedle (32) extending from the array surface; and pressure sensitive adhesive (34) disposed on the second portion of the first major surface of the extension member to facilitate the adhesive attachment of the device to mammalian skin when the at least one microneedle is inserted through the stratum corneum.

摘要: The present invention provides a device in the form of a filter which is useable in conjunction with a plasma display panel and which functions to reduce reflection after assembly to acceptable levels, to increase contrast enhancement ratios, to reduce EMI emissions to levels which comply with consumer safety and other regulations and standards and to reduce infrared transmission in the 800 nm-1000 nm range to a level which does not interfere with IR remote control operation. The present invention also relates to a method of making such a plasma display panel filter.
