A catalyst for denitrizing nitrogen oxides contained in waste gas which contains a substantial amount of arsenic compounds therein, which comprises:(a) titanium, and(b) at least one element selected from the group consisting of arsenic and manganese. The catalyst is resistant to deactivation by arsenic compounds and retains high denitrizing activity over a long period of time. The catalyst may further contain at least one base metal selected from the group consisting of V, W, Mo, Cu, Fe, Cr, Co, Ni, Zn and Sn.

This process comprises reacting at least one hydrocarbon with oxygen or air or nitrous oxide or other gaseous oxidants, in the presence of a mixture comprising at least two elements selected from the group consisting of Sc, Y, Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Re, Fe, Co, Ni, Sn, Pb, Sb, Bi and Se, on a support with a BET surface area of less than 200 m2/g. Disclosed are a semiconductor photocatalyst for the photocatalytic reforming of biomass derivatives for hydrogen generation, and preparation and use thereof. The semiconductor photocatalyst has the atomic composition ratio of M˜N-Ax; wherein M˜N are IIB group elements to VIA group elements, or IIIA group elements to VA group elements, A being one element or more than two elements selected from the group consisting of cobalt, nickel, iron, copper, chromium, palladium, platinum, ruthenium, rhodium, iridium and silver; and 0.02%≦x≦1.0%. The method of in-situ preparation of the highly effective semiconductor photocatalyst and catalytically reforming biomass derivatives for hydrogen generation by driving photoreaction with visible light via quantum dots is simple, fast, highly effective, inexpensive and practical. The in situ reaction can occur in sunlight without the need of harsh conditions such as calcination.
