摘要: The present invention relates to an improved process for addition of hydrogen cyanide across olefins and, in particular, to the use of a specific aluminum oxide to catalyze the reaction. The aluminum oxide catalyst must have total alkali metal and/or alkaline earth metal content, measured in the form of alkali metal oxide and/or alkaline earth metal oxide, of less than 3,000 ppm by weight.

摘要: A process is described for reducing the total acid number of a refinery feedstock. In one embodiment, refinery feedstock containing naphthenic acids is contacted with an effective amount of solid catalyst in the presence of an aqueous caustic base, wherein the caustic base is sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide, for a period of time sufficient to neutralize at least a portion of the naphthenic acids in the feedstock. Thereafter, the aqueous phase is separated from the neutralized refinery feedstock. In another embodiment catalyst is pretreated with a caustic base solution and contacted with refinery feedstock to reducing the total acid number.

When the compositions are used to convert syngas, selectivity to higher (C2+) alcohols is increased in comparison to conversions accomplished over many other catalyst systems.

摘要: The present invention provides a process for the hydrogenation of the levulinic acid to γ-valerolactone in a single step with a single Pt supported on hydrotalcite catalyst. The process provides conversion of γ-valerolactone over Pt supported hydrotalcite catalyst at room temperature (25° C.). The process provides a levulinic acid conversion of 34-100% with 20-50 bar hydrogen pressure to give γ-valerolactone selectivity up to 99%.

摘要: The invention includes a process for reducing the amount of NOx discharged to atmosphere from a FCC unit, having a regenerator and a means for collecting and supporting catalyst particles. The process comprises adding a catalyst to the regenerator flue gas prior to entering the collecting means and precipitating the catalyst in the collecting means to form a catalyst bed. Ammonia or ammonia precursor is added to the flue gas prior to and/or within the collecting means. The flue gas NOx is reacted with the ammonia or ammonia precursor at 200° C. to 800° C. in the presence of the catalyst bed to reduce the NOx amount, and the flue gas containing a reduced amount of NOx is discharged to atmosphere. The catalyst is one or more supported transition or lanthanide metal catalysts. The process can also be utilized in any combustion process.
