摘要: Described herein are various embodiments for a coasting timer for predictive acceleration. In an embodiment, a system for predictive acceleration of a vehicle is described. The system may comprise an accelerator pedal; a sensor coupled to the accelerator pedal, the sensor configured to measure depression of the accelerator pedal; and an electronic control unit (ECU). The ECU may be configured to: determine a current coasting map; determine a coasting interval duration based, at least in part, on the current coasting map; determine the coasting interval duration has started based, at least in part, upon a measurement received from the sensor; and activate one or more subsystems of the vehicle prior to the end of the coasting interval duration, the one or more subsystems determined based, at least in part, on a predicted acceleration type.

摘要: A manual transmission is partially automated by utilizing a controller to regulate the torque capacity of the clutch. Under most circumstances, the controller manipulates the clutch according to driver manipulation of a clutch pedal to simulate a non-automated manual transmission. However, to save fuel, the controller may enter a sailing mode in which the clutch is disengaged without the driver depressing the clutch pedal. The controller exits sailing mode in response to the vehicle speed decreasing below a threshold which is a function of the currently selected gear ratio. The threshold is selected such that the engine will not stall and will be able to generate sufficient power for acceleration when the clutch is re-engaged to exit sailing mode. In order to extend the use of sailing mode, the controller may activate a downshift indicator at a slightly higher speed threshold to encourage the driver to downshift.

On a downgrade, determining whether running in the first mode (M1) will result in a speed increase, and then running in the second mode (M2) if running it in the first mode (M1) would cause a speed increase.

摘要: A vehicle control system is provided which includes a travel controller working to execute a coasting mode to cut transmission of drive power, as produced by an engine to a drive wheel of the vehicle when a given execution condition is encountered while the vehicle is traveling. The travel controller determines a threshold value, as used for comparison with a position of an accelerator, based on the speed of the vehicle. When the position of the accelerator is determined to be smaller than the threshold value, the travel controller executes the coasting mode. This improves the fuel economy in the vehicle without sacrificing traveling of the vehicle according to a driver's operation on the accelerator.

摘要: A method and apparatus for evaluating an advised driving speed of a vehicle traversing a particular portion of a road network is disclosed. The method comprises accessing first predetermined data indicative of the variation in average fuel consumption for the vehicle with speed of the vehicle, using the first predetermined data to determine data indicative of average fuel consumption for the vehicle for a plurality of speeds within a range based on a speed limit for the portion of the road network being traversed, and evaluating the advised driving speed of the vehicle based at least in part on the determined data indicative of average fuel consumption for the vehicle for the range of speeds. The evaluation of the advised driving speed may further be based on second predetermined data indicative of the variation in a likelihood of the vehicle being in the highest gear with speed of the vehicle.
