    摘要: A chemical dispensing mechanism detects the liquid surface of a chemical including a chemical container mounted on a chemical disk. A calculation control unit controls the operation of the chemical dispensing mechanism. The calculation control unit performs a first raising operation, in which a chemical stored in the chemical container is suctioned by the chemical dispensing mechanism, which is then raised up to a first bubble detection position, determines whether a liquid surface is present, and outputs an alert indicating the presence of a bubble on the liquid surface when the liquid surface has been determined to be absent. The first bubble detection position is when the tip of a dispensing nozzle of the chemical dispensing mechanism remains inside the liquid when there are no bubbles present on the liquid surface, and is exposed from the inside of the liquid when there are bubbles present on the liquid surface.

    摘要: Centrifugal analyzer and method for staining biological or non-biological samples in microgravity, wherein the method utilizes an increase in weight of a fluid sample as a function of g-load, to overcome cohesive and frictional forces from preventing its movement in a preselected direction. Apparatus is characterized by plural specimen reservoirs and channels in a slide, each channel being of differing cross-section, wherein respective samples are selectively dispensed, from the reservoirs in response to an imposed g-factor, precedent to sample staining. Within the method, one thus employs microscope slides which define channels, each being of a differing cross-section dimension relative to others. In combination therewith, centrifugal slide mounting apparatus controllably imposes g-vectors of differing magnitudes within a defined structure of the centrifuge such as a chip array.

    摘要: An optical analysis disc includes grooves defining corresponding laser-readable tracks and trigger marks that identify respective target regions on the disc. The trigger marks are implemented as a radial interruption of the grooves to thereby produce an increased reflection of a laser beam. There is also provided an optical analysis disc system including a trigger mechanism having a trigger detector adapted to detect interruptions in grooves of an optical analysis disc. A related method for triggering through interrupted grooves of an optical analysis disc includes detecting interruption in the grooves, generating an electrical reflection signal corresponding to the interruptions detected, and elaborating said reflection signal, so that to generate a trigger signal.
