摘要: A field emission display (100) includes a cathode plate (110) having a plurality of electron emitters (114), an anode plate (122) having an anode (124) connected to a potential source (126), and an anode voltage pull-down circuit (127) having an input (106) and an output (104). Output (104) is connected to anode (124), and input (106) is connected to potential source (126). Preferably, anode voltage pull-down circuit (127) causes an anode voltage (120) at anode (124) to drop to about ground potential prior to generation of a discharge current by electron emitters (114) for neutralizing positively electrostatically charged surfaces (137, 138) within field emission display (100).

摘要: In an atomic switch, opposite ends of an atom wire are connected to an input and output, and a switching gate is connected to a switching power supply. An input signal is outputted when a switching atom is connected to the atom wire, whereas an input signal is not outputted when the switching atom is moved to disconnect from the atom wire. There are provided an atom wire having a plurality of atoms arranged in a line or in a plurality of lines, in a ring shape, or in a curved line, and a switching gate made of an atom wire. The atom wire is switched by the field effect of the switching gate.

摘要: The present invention relate to an atomic scale electronic switch wherein the position of one or more atoms (12, 20) or molecules is varied to control the state of the switch. Terminals (10, 11, 21-23) may be tips of scanning tunneling microscopes or STMs. A change in position of the switch will result in a change in conductance between the spaced apart terminals. Voltage or current pulses cause the switching element (12) to change positions.

摘要: Herein disclosed is a new and improved pulse modulator comprisng first current gating means for applying a current through a first primary lead of a current transformer during the duration of an applied control signal pulse and second current gating means for applying an oppositely directed current through a second primary lead of the transformer. The current flow through the second primary lead commences at the trailing edge of the control signal pulse and produces a flux which cancels the flux produced by the current through the first primary lead; whereby a high voltage output pulse is produced across the secondary winding of the transformer which accurately reproduces the duration of the applied low voltage control signal pulse.
