    摘要: The present invention relates to an adhesive composition comprising (1) at least one polyol tri(meth)acrylate monomer selected from the group consisting of ditrimethylolpropane triacrylate (DiTMPTTA), tris-(2-hydroxyethyl)-isocyanurate triacrylate (THEICTA), dipentaerythritol triacrylate (DiPETA), ethoxylated trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPEOTA), propoxylated trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPPOTA), ethoxylated pentaerythritol triacrylate (PETEOIA), propoxylated glyceryl triacrylate (GPTA), pentaerythritol triacrylate (PETA), trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA) and modified pentaerythritol triacrylate, triethyleneglycol trimethacrylate (TIEGTMA), tetraethyleneglycol trimethacrylate (TTEGTMA), polyethyleneglycol trimethacrylate hexane trimethacrylate (HTTMA) ethoxylated bisphenol A trimethacrylate, and trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TMPTMA), (2) at least one polyalkylene glycol mono(meth)acrylate monomer selected from the group consisting of polypropylene glycol monomethacrylate, polyethylene glycol monomethacrylate, polyethylene glycol-polypropylene glycol monomethacrylate, polypropylene glycol-monoacrylate, polyethylene glycol monoacrylate, polypropylene glycol-polytrimethylene monoacrylate, polyethylene glycol-polytetramethylene glycol monomethacrylate, methoxypolyethylene glycol monomethacrylate, yerfluoroalkylethyl-polyoxyalkylene monomethacrylate, and combinations thereof, and (3) at least one radical initiator selected from the group of initiators sensitive to UV and/or blue radiation (photoinitiator) and thermal initiators (thermoinitiator). The adhesive composition is used for assembling elements made of plastic materials, like PMMA or SAN, or inorganic materials, like glass or metals, employed for manufacturing of devices for the distribution of containment of biological substances.

    摘要: A rubber-modified polymeric composition having predominately core-shell morphology is disclosed. The rubber-modified polymeric composition can be a polystyrene comprising styrene, polybutadiene, and a high-grafting initiator formed by contacting singlet oxygen with an olefin containing an allylic hydrogen or a diene to form a hydroperoxide or peroxide. The singlet oxygen can be formed by contacting ground state oxygen with a photo catalyst, such a photosensitive dye exposed to light.

    摘要: The invention provides compositions of matter, methods of their synthesis, and methods of their use in polymerization reactions. The compositions include polyfunctional initiators used to make star polymers when polymerized with monomers. The polyfunctional initiators are synthesized out of a multifunctional core with at least two functional groups and two or more initiator units bonded to the functional groups. The initiator units have two electron-withdrawing groups bonded to a central carbon atom and an azo group between the central carbon atom and the functional group. The polyfunctional initiators are particularly effective because when they decompose to form the radical core of a star polymer, the electron-withdrawing groups prevent the corresponding radical from forming any linear polymer contamination and only desired star polymers result. In addition when the desired star polymers are fed into a reaction vessel by streams with two different concentrations the star polymers produce superior properties.

    摘要: It has been discovered that improved polystyrene products may be obtained by polymerizing styrene in the presence of at least one multifunctional initiator, at least one chain transfer agent, and at least one cross-linking agent. The presence of the multifunctional initiator tends to cause more branched structures in the polystyrene. A mathematical model that helps optimize the levels of these additives for given molecular weights, melt flow indices (MFIs) and zero shear viscosities (η0) has also been discovered.

    摘要: The novel polyfunctional peroxides are compounds represented by the following general formula (1):R.sup.1 -CX.sub.3 ( 1)wherein R.sup.1 represents a linear alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and X represents a group: ##STR1## (wherein R.sup.2 represents a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms). Such polyfunctional peroxides include 1,1,1-tris(t-butylperoxycarbonyloxymethyl)propane and the like. The polymerization initiators for vinyl monomers comprise such polyfunctional peroxides. In the process for polymerizing vinyl monomers, a vinyl monomer is polymerized employing such polyfunctional peroxide at 60 to 160.degree. C.
