摘要: Disclosed herein is a method for preparing rigid polyurethane foams, in which method (a) polyisocyanates are mixed with (b) compounds having at least two hydrogen atoms that are reactive with isocyanate groups, (c) optionally a flame retardant, (d) a blowing agent, (e) a catalyst, and (f) optionally auxiliary agents and additives, to form a reaction mixture and are cured to provide the rigid polyurethane foam. Further disclosed herein are a rigid polyurethane foam obtained by the method and a method of using the rigid polyurethane foam in the manufacture of sandwich elements.

摘要: There is provided herein a flame retardant liquid solution comprising a brominated flame retardant solute and a hydroxyl-functional phosphonate solvent of the general formula (I) described herein; and, wherein the solvent of the general formula (I) has a viscosity of less than 1,000 cps. In addition, there is provided a polyurethane foam-forming composition comprising a polyol, a catalyst and the flame retardant liquid solution, or alternatively, polyurethane foam-forming composition comprising an a catalyst and the flame retardant liquid solution, wherein the hydroxyl-functional phosphonate solvent of the general formula (I) functions as a hydroxyl-containing component and/or a flame retardant in the polyurethane foam-forming composition, as well as articles made from either of the polyurethane foam-forming compositions.

摘要: A one-part polyurethane composition includes the reaction product of at least one polyether polyol PO, at least one thermoplastic polyester polyol PE, at least one hydrophobic polyol PH, and at least one polyisocyanate PI, preferably methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI), wherein the composition has a remaining isocyanate content of between 0.8 and 3.5 wt.-%, preferably between 1.4 to 1.8 wt.-%, based on the total weight of the isocyanate-functional polymers comprised therein, and wherein said polyether polyol PO includes a bifunctional polyether polyol PO1 and a trifunctional polyether polyol PO2 and wherein said hydrophobic polyol PH is a polyester polyol based on fatty acids. The inventive one-component composition exhibits high green strength and long open time, as well as high storage stability. It is especially suitable as adhesive, in particular for automotive windshields and is preferably applied warm.

摘要: A spray foam formulation used to form a spray foam insulation layer in a wall structure is described. The formulation may include the reaction product of a polyisocyanate compound and a polyol compound; a fire retardant chosen from at least one of a non-halogenated fire retardant; and a reactive halogen-containing fire retardant, and a carbohydrate. The spray foam insulation layer has an insulative R value of 3.0 to 7.2 per inch, and a density of between about 0.3 to about 4.5 pcf. Further, spray foam insulation made from the spray foam formulation may have fire retardant characteristics that are equivalent to or better than a similar spray insulation foam insulation using non-reactive halogenated fire retardants such as tris(1-chloro-2-propyl)phosphate (TCPP).

摘要: Disclosed are polyurethane foam-forming compositions with a phase stable isocyanate-reactive composition that includes a halogenated olefin blowing agent that has low or no ozone depletion potential and low global warming potential. Such polyurethane foam-forming compositions are suitable for spray application to produce polyurethane foams that are believed to exhibit good fire resistance properties, low smoke generation and low or no scorch due to reduced exotherm, thereby making them particularly suitable for use, for example, as relatively thick wall and/or roof insulation.

摘要: A spray foam formulation used to form a spray foam insulation layer in a wall structure is described.
