The present invention relates to a flame-resistant composition, a fiber-reinforced polyurethane composite comprising the flame-resistant composition and the use thereof. In particular, the invention describes a flame-resistant polyurethane-composite forming composition and a combustion-modified, fiber-reinforced polyurethane composite comprising the flame-resistant polyurethane-composite forming composition, for applications in vehicles and for building products. The invention also describes a long-fiber injection molding process for the preparation of the combustion-modified, fiber-reinforced polyurethane composite. The fiber-reinforced polyurethane composite of the invention show improved fire-reaction behavior, measured as Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI), and a reduced smoke production.

The molding composition that comprise A) branched, aromatic poly(ester)carbonate, B) graft polymer, C) an optional vinyl(co)polymer and or polyalkylene terephthalate, D) at least one flame retarding phosphorous compound selected from the group consisting of mono- and oligomeric phosphorus and phosphonic acid esters, phosphonate amines and phosphazenes and E) talc, is characterized in that its flexural modulus at room temperature is at least 3000 N/mm2 and that its falling dart energy at break, at −30° C., is at least 40.0 J. Sheets extruded of the composition are suitable for making useful articles by thermoforming.

A deodorant includes a powder of an amine salt of a phosphorus inorganic acid, the powder having an average particle diameter of 0.1 to 30 μm. The amine salt of a phosphorus inorganic acid is preferably an ammonium salt. Deodorant products including the deodorant such as an adhesive, a paint and a foamed material can be substantially reduced in formaldehyde emission therefrom, and can deodorize formaldehyde existed in the environment.

Also disclosed is a method for preparing a polyolefin fiber, film or fabric which includes (A) incorporating the above additives into an olefin polymer, thereby producing a stabilized polyolefin polymer; and (B) extruding the stabilized olefin polymer through a die, thereby producing a olefin polymer fiber or film. A woven or non-woven fabric may be prepared from the olefin polymer fiber or film.
