Abstract: A wire cable assembly capable of transmitting signals at speeds of 5 Gigabits per second over a single pair or conductors. The cable has a characteristic impedance of 95 Ohms and can support transmission data according to either USB 3.0 or HDMI 1.3 performance specifications. The wire cable includes a pair of conductors, a shield surrounding the conductors, and a dielectric structure configured to maintain a first predetermined spacing between the conductors and a second predetermined spacing between said the conductors said shield. The shield includes an inner shield conductor enclosing the dielectric structure, a ground conductor external to the inner shield conductor, extending generally parallel to the pair of conductors, an outer shield conductor enclosing the inner shield conductor and the ground conductor.

Abstract: An electrical distribution center includes a bracket. A mounting plate is secured to the bracket and includes an aperture having a perimeter. An electrical connector is disposed within the aperture and includes locating structure that is captured between the perimeter and the bracket to align and to retain the electrical connector relative to the bracket. One locating structure includes spring arms that cooperate with notches provided by the aperture. Another locating structure includes an edge captured beneath a periphery of the aperture. The mounting plate is snap-fit to the bracket over the electrical connectors.

Abstract: A system which is configured to enable a vehicle's embedded USB Host system to connect to multiple mobile devices through a USB Hub, regardless of whether the mobile devices are configured to act as USB Hosts or USB Devices, without the need to add or provide OTG controllers in the system or additional vehicle wiring, or inhibiting the functionality of any consumer devices operating in USB Device mode connected to a vehicle system Hub while another consumer device connected to the same Hub operates in USB Host mode. Preferably, the system is configured to provide that no additional cabling is required, and no hardware changes are required to be made to the HU. The system can be employed between a vehicle's embedded USB Host, USB Hub and at least one consumer accessible USB port. In the case where the consumer device is acting as a USB Host, signals between the consumer device and the vehicle's embedded USB Host are processed through a bridge, thereby rendering the consumer device compatible with the vehicle's embedded USB Host.

Abstract: A system for detecting faults in a motor includes a drive circuit, a detection circuit, and a controller. The drive circuit is configured to apply a drive signal to a motor. The detection circuit is configured to detect a response signal generated when the drive signal is applied to the motor. The controller is configured to determine a motor fault based on a comparison of the response signal to an expected signal for the drive signal applied to the motor. The drive signal is selected to generate a rotating magnetic field in the motor with a rotation-frequency greater than a maximum mechanical-response-frequency of the motor.

Abstract: An apparatus, such as an extruding machine, configured to form a sheath, e.g. insulative layer, over an elongate member, e.g. a wire cable including an extruder to apply the material forming the sheath, a drive mechanism configured to move the elongate member through the extruder at a line speed, a thickness sensor to determine the thickness of the material, and a controller. The controller is programmed to determine a deviation between the actual material thickness a desired thickness, determine a correction factor value based on the deviation between the actual thickness and the desired thickness of the material applied, and adjust the line speed, via the drive mechanism, based on the line speed, an extruder feeder speed, the correction factor value and a material factor value that is based on rheological properties of the material. A method of operating such an extruding machine is also presented.

Abstract: A transmit coil assembly configured to transmit two different alternating magnetic fields having different frequencies is provided. The transmit coil assembly includes a first transmit coil set configured to resonate within a first frequency range and a second transmit coil set configured to resonate within a second frequency range which is outside the first frequency range and at least ten times higher or lower than the first frequency range. Abstract: A rectifier circuit includes a MOSFET (M1), and a first Zener diode (D1) or a first Zener-emulator (E1) that emulates the D1. The circuit conducts current in a forward direction from an input to an output, and substantially blocks current in a reverse direction. The M1 is characterized by an on-resistance.
