摘要: Apparatus and method according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention can be provided for analyzing tissue. For example, the apparatus can include at least one first arrangement configured to illuminate at least one anatomical structure with at least one of at least one electro-magnetic radiation. The apparatus can also include at least one second arrangement that may include at least two wave-guiding arrangements associated with one another that are configured to receive a further electro-magnetic radiation reflected from the tissue and transmit at least one speckle pattern associated with the further electro-magnetic radiation. The wave-guiding arrangements may be structured so as to reduce crosstalk therebetween.

摘要: Exemplary embodiments of arrangements and methods providing information associated with a sample are described. For example, using such exemplary arrangements and methods, it is possible to receive an unpartitioned electro-magnetic radiation from the sample. Further, first data associated with first luminescent characteristics of at least one first molecule of the sample and second data associated with second luminescent characteristics of at least one second molecule of the sample can be obtained based on the unpartitioned electro-magnetic radiation. At least two of the photo-luminescent properties of the sample may be measured simultaneously as a function of the first and second data. Further, the information regarding the molecules of the sample may be determined as a function of the photo-luminescent properties.

摘要: Exemplary systems and processes for generating information associated with at least one portion of a sample are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, at least one electromagnetic radiation can be received from the at least one portion, whereas the electromagnetic radiation has a wavenumber that is between approximately 5,000 cm−1 and 600 cm−1. The information can be generated which includes structural data, molecular data and/or chemical data of the portion. The information can be generated based on (a) at least one phase of the at least one electromagnetic radiation, and/or (b) at least one refractive index of the at least one portion. According to another exemplary embodiment, the electromagnetic radiation having a first wavenumber can be transmitted to the portion which has at least two substances, whereas a refractive index of one of the substances at a second wavenumber is approximately the same as a refractive index of another one of the substances at the second wavenumber. The electromagnetic radiation can be controlled such that the first wavenumber substantially matches the first wavenumber to reduce scattering within the portion.

摘要: A catheter based optical system for generating data as to the condition of a tissue sample of a mammalian vessel. The system includes an elongated catheter shaft having a tissue engaging distal end and a coupled proximal end and an elongated optical delivery fiber arrangement disposed through a lumen of said catheter, said optical delivery fiber arrangement having a distal end and a proximal end. The distal end of the delivery fiber arrangement has a re-director light emitter thereon for directing light against mammalian tissues. An elongated optical collection fiber arrangement is disposed through a lumen of the catheter, the optical collection fiber arrangement having a distal end and a proximal most end. The distal end of the collection fiber arrangement has a re-director light receiver thereon for receiving light reflected from the mammalian tissue by the light emitter. The light emitter and the light receiver are longitudinally spaced apart from one another in the distal end of the catheter. The catheter apparatus includes a light source in communication with the delivery fiber and a signal detector in communication with the receiving fiber for receiving and presenting data collected.
