    摘要: Provided are a Vestigial Side Band (VSB) digital television (DTV) receiver based on is A/53 of the Advanced Television System Committee (ATSC) that can secure backward compatibility of a low-ranked DTV receiver by using parity bytes added to robust data for error correction and obtain RS coding gain from the robust data, and a method thereof. The DTV receiver includes: a receiving unit for receiving a transmission signal including general data and robust data and converting the transmission signal into a base-band signal; an equalizer for determining a symbol level of the transmission signal; a trellis decoder for performing trellis decoding on a symbol of the determined level; a nonsystematic Reed Solomon (NRS) decoder for performing NRS decoding on the trellis-decoded robust data and correcting an error; and a restoring unit for restoring a digital video data stream with respect to the trellis-decoded general data and the NRS-decoded robust data.

    摘要: A digital broadcast transmitting/receiving system, and a signal processing method thereof, includes a randomizer for randomizing a transport stream into a specified position of which stuff bytes are inserted, a stuff-byte exchanger for replacing the stuff bytes included in data output from the randomizer with specified known data, an RS encoder for performing an RS-encoding of data output from the stuff-byte exchanger, an interleaver for interleaving data output from the RS encoder, a trellis encoder for performing a trellis encoding of data output from the interleaver, an RS parity generator for generating a parity by performing an RS encoding of data output from the RS encoder, and outputting the generated parity to the trellis encoder, and a modulator/RF converter for modulating data output from the trellis encoder and performing an RF up-converting of the modulated data. The digital broadcast receiving performance can be improved even in an inferior multi-path channel by detecting the known data from the received signal and using the known data for synchronization and equalization in a digital broadcast receiver.

    摘要: A system for transmitting a digital broadcasting signal includes a supplementary reference signal (SRS) inserter receiving a dual transport stream in which a normal stream and a turbo stream are multiplexed, and inserting an SRS into a stuffing region provided in the dual transport stream, a Reed-Solomon encoder encoding the dual transport stream having the SRS inserted therein, an interleaver interleaving the encoded dual transport stream, a turbo processor detecting and encoding the turbo stream from the interleaved dual transport stream, stuffing the dual transport stream with the encoded turbo stream, and compensating for a parity corresponding to the encoded turbo stream, and a trellis/parity corrector performing a trellis encoding of the dual transport stream processed by the turbo processor, which can robustly process a turbo stream included in the dual transport stream and easily confirm the channel state between a transmitter side and a receiver side.
