摘要: A method of forming a three-dimensional object comprises the steps of forming a layer of a particulate composition, selectively depositing a liquid composition onto the layer of the particulate composition in accordance with computer data corresponding to the shape of at least a portion of a three-dimensional object, and repeating the steps a plurality of times to form a three-dimensional object. The particulate composition comprises a plurality of first particles that comprise a resin component comprising a first resin, the first resin comprising a first resin polymerizable group. Either or both of the particulate composition and the liquid composition comprise an initiator capable of initiating polymerization of at least the first resin. At least the first resin undergoes melting and polymerization in a plurality of the locations where the liquid composition has been selectively deposited.

摘要: New shape memory polymer compositions, methods for synthesizing new shape memory polymers, and apparatus comprising an actuator and a shape memory polymer wherein the shape memory polymer comprises at least a portion of the actuator. A shape memory polymer comprising a polymer composition which physically forms a network structure wherein the polymer composition has shape-memory behavior and can be formed into a permanent primary shape, re-formed into a stable secondary shape, and controllably actuated to recover the permanent primary shape. Polymers have optimal aliphatic network structures due to minimization of dangling chains by using monomers that are symmetrical and that have matching amine and hydroxl groups providing polymers and polymer foams with clarity, tight (narrow temperature range) single transitions, and high shape recovery and recovery force that are especially useful for implanting in the human body.

摘要: Multi-piece golf balls having a solid core made of a foamed composition and a cover are provided. Preferably, the core is dual-layered having has a foam inner core (center) and surrounding thermoset or thermoplastic outer core layer. Preferably, a polyurethane foam composition containing mineral filler particulate, for example, nanoclay particles, is used to form the foam center. The concentration of clay particulate is preferably in a range of 0.1 to 60% by weight. The surrounding outer core layer may be made from non-foamed or foamed compositions. For example, polybutadiene rubber or highly neutralized olefin acid copolymers may be used in the outer core layer. The core layers have different hardness gradients and specific gravity values.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for producing special nanocapsules, which can be used as thermolatent polymerization catalysts, in particular for the polarization of polyurethanes, by means of a high shear process, wherein the method comprises: (i) emulsification of a reaction mixture into a continuous aqueous phase comprising at least one stabilizer, wherein the reaction mixture comprises, based on the total weight of the reaction mixture: (a) 10.0 to 99.0 wt. % of a monomer mixture which comprises, based on the total weight of the monomer mixture: (a1) 2.5 to 19.0 wt. % of at least one simply ethylenically unsaturated C3-5-carboxylic acid monomer; (a2) 76.0 to 97.5 wt. % of at least one simply ethylenically unsaturated C3-5-carboxylic acid-C1-10-alkyl ester monomer; (a3) 0.0 to 5.0 wt. % of at least one monomer which bears at least two ethylenically unsaturated groups; (b) 1.0 to 70.0 wt. % of at least one polymerization catalyst or initiator; (c) 0.0 to 89.0 wt. % of at least one hydrophobic release agent, wherein the release agent preferably has a Hansen parameter ∂t of less than 20; and (d) 0.0 to 10.0 wt. % of at least one ultrahydrophobic compound which is different from the release agent; (ii) optionally homogenizing the emulsion from step (i); and (iii) polymerizing the monomers. The invention further relates to the nanocapsules produced by means of the described methods, to the use thereof, and to agents which contain these nanocapsules.

摘要: The present invention provides a urethane resin composition containing a urethane resin having polymerizable unsaturated groups and an aqueous medium. The urethane resin is obtained by reacting a polyol with a polyisocyanate. The polyol contains an alkylenediol having two or more polymerizable unsaturated groups or an oxyalkylenediol having two or more polymerizable unsaturated groups. The alkylenediol is represented by general formula (1): HO—R1—OH (1) (where R1 is a linear alkylene group of one to nine carbon atoms having two or more atomic groups containing a polymerizable unsaturated group in side chains thereof). The oxyalkylenediol (a1-2) is represented by general formula (2): HO—R1O—R2—OR3—OH (2) (where R1 and R3 are ethylene groups having a total of two or more atomic groups containing a polymerizable unsaturated group in side chains thereof, and R2 is an alkylene group of one to five carbon atoms). This urethane resin composition can form a coating with good elongation and flexibility and high hardness.
