Abstract: A medical monitoring device comprises a monitoring unit. The monitoring unit comprises a processor, a transceiver in data communication with the processor, and a power supply in electrical communication with the processor and the receiver. The monitoring device further comprises a plurality of wireless electrodes. Each of the wireless electrode comprises an electrode, a transmitter in electrical communication with the electrode, a power supply in electrical communication with the transmitter, and an adhesive operably connected to the electrode. A method of generating an electrocardiogram (ECG) comprises: detecting at least 10 ECG signals through a plurality of wireless electrodes; wirelessly transmitting each of the at least 10 ECG signals from the electrodes to a monitoring unit; and displaying each of the at least 10 wireless signals on a display in real time.

Abstract: An electrocardiogram device configured to transmit at least one signal responsive to a wearer's cardiac electrical activity can include a disposable portion and a reusable portion configured to mechanically and electrically mate with each other. The disposable portion can include a base having at least one mechanical connector portion, a plurality of cables and corresponding external ECG electrodes, and a first plurality of electrical connectors associated with the plurality of cables. The reusable portion can include a cover having at least one mechanical connector portion, a second plurality of electrical connectors configured to electrically connect with the first plurality of electrical connectors of the disposable portion, and an output connector port configured to transmit at least one signal responsive to one or more signals outputted by the external ECG electrodes of the disposable portion.

Abstract: A smart ring includes a curved housing having a U-shape interior storing components including: a curved battery approximately conforming to the curved housing, a semi-flexible PCB approximately conforming to the curved housing and having mounted thereon: a motion sensor for generating motion data from physical perturbations of the smart ring, a memory for storing executable instructions, a transceiver for sending data to a client computer, a temperature sensor, and a processor for receiving motion data and performing executable instructions in response thereto, and a potting material disposed in the interior, forming an interior wall of the smart ring, wherein the potting material encapsulates the components and is substantially transparent to visible light, infrared light, and/or ultraviolet light.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are devices and methods of using a mobile or wearable device for the acquisition and spatial filtering of ECG signals from an electrode array. One variation of a mobile or wearable device comprises an array of electrodes, one or more reference electrodes, and a controller in communication with the electrodes. In one example, the one or more reference electrodes are located on a wrist-worn device (e.g., a watch), and the electrode array is located on an accessory device that may be contacted with a fingertip. One variation of a spatial filtering method comprises identifying the electrodes that have high levels of noise and excluding the ECG signals from those electrodes from further analyses. In another variation, a method of spatial filtering comprises identifying electrodes with low levels of noise and including only the ECG signals from those electrodes in further analyses.

Abstract: The accuracy of physiological data measured through contact with skin can be validated by characterizing the forces at the surfaces where data is measured. Conventional devices do not monitor the fit of skin-based sensors, making the accuracy and confidence in physiological data dependent on the user ensuring that the device is fitted properly. Over time, the seating of a device will vary due to changes in user activity and the need to periodically remove a device. Inevitably, instances will arise where the device is not fitted correctly, which may result in skewed physiological metrics. By monitoring the forces acting on the housing of a device, the interface of skin sensors can be characterized allowing for confidence metrics in the corresponding physiological data to be determined. In some cases, a user can be notified when a device is not seated properly, and in some cases, data may even be calibrated based on the fit of a device.
