Abstract: This disclosure is directed to systems and methods for detecting and estimating motion of a head of a patient in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The system includes a pad for supporting a patient's head. The pad has protrusions and each of the protrusions define a chamber filed with a fluid. The system includes pressure sensors and each of the pressure sensors are operatively connected with a respective chamber. Each of the pressure sensors can sense a pressure within each of the respective chambers. The system includes a controller. The controller can receive data indicative of the pressure within each of the respective chambers, and can detect the motion of the head of the patient based on the data indicative of the pressure within each of the respective chambers.

Abstract: A system for detecting bioelectrical signals of a user comprising: a set of sensors configured to detect bioelectrical signals from the user, each sensor in the set of sensors configured to provide non-polarizable contact at the body of the user; an electronics subsystem comprising a power module configured to distribute power to the system and a signal processing module configured to receive signals from the set of sensors; a set of sensor interfaces coupling the set of sensors to the electronics subsystem and configured to facilitate noise isolation within the system; and a housing coupled to the electronics subsystem, wherein the housing facilitates coupling of the system to a head region of the user.

Abstract: A blood pressure monitoring device configured to attach and supply air to a blood pressure cuff can include a housing having an interior, a port configured to enable fluid communication between the interior of the housing and an interior of the blood pressure cuff, and an air intake configured to allow ambient air to enter the interior of the housing and further configured to inhibit liquids from entering the interior of the housing. The air intake can define a non-linear passageway for ambient air to enter the interior of the housing. The housing can have a first side and a first inner wall. The air intake can be defined by a first opening in the first side and a second opening in the first inner wall. The first opening can be not aligned with the second opening.

Abstract: Methods and devices are described, such as for chest compression depth measurement for CPR performed on infants and for allowing active decompression of a patient's chest during a release phase of a chest compression cycle. An anterior segment of a resilient wrap-around structure may be positioned on the patient's sternum, including a first motion sensor. A posterior segment of the resilient wrap-around structure may be positioned on the patient's back, including a second motion sensor. Chest compressions may be provided such that the first motion sensor moves in fixed relation with the patient's sternum and the second sensor moves in fixed relation with the patient's back. Active decompression may be allowed for, including the resilient wrap-around structure exerting an expansive force on the patient's chest wall during a release phase of a chest compression cycle and hastening expansion of the patient's chest during the release phase.

Abstract: An electrode for acquiring electroencephalogram signals of a user includes a base and a plurality of legs extending from the base at first extremity. The legs include a second extremity covered with an electrically conductive material. The second extremity includes a smaller cross-section than the first extremity of the legs so the legs can penetrate through hair of the user. The legs elastically flex such that, when the electrode is applied on a user's head, the electrically conductive material of the second extremity contacts a scalp of the user, wherein the base is of cuboid shape having two side faces, the legs being directly attached to the side faces of the base, the legs being symmetrically attached to the base with respect to a longitudinal axis and the legs attached to a side face of the base facing the legs attached to the other side face of the base.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods for targeting a biomedical system. Aspects of the subject methods include determining the trajectory of a targeting device using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of a MRI-visible style of a trajectory guide that is compatible with the targeting device. Targeted biomedical systems may be utilized for a variety of purposes including targeted delivery of a therapeutic, holding a therapeutic device, positioning of a therapeutic device and other uses. Also provided are devices and systems that can be used in practicing the described methods including but not limited to trajectory guides and adjustable targeting systems, as well as non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computing device, cause a computing device to perform steps of the described methods.
