摘要: An occlusion device for occluding a defect in a spinal disc anulus, including a plate and a retention device. The plate defines an anulus contact face. The retention device extends from the contact face of the plate and defines an anulus engagement portion. The retention device is deflectable relative to the plate such that in a deployed state, the retention device biases the plate against material disposed between the contact face of the plate and the anulus engagement portion. Upon final deployment, the retention device bears against the exterior surface of the anulus, biasing the plate into contact with the interior surface of the anulus. In a preferred embodiment, the retention device includes a pair of L-shaped arms each extending in an opposing, angular fashion from the plate.

摘要: The present invention comprises an angularly adjustable coupler. The first and second ends are in an angularly adjustable mating engagement. The first end has a longitudinal axis and a base with an optionally concave and serrated surface, and can comprise a collared clamp for connecting to a pylon. The second end has a longitudinal axis and a base with an optionally convex and serrated surface, and can comprise a receiver for connecting to a pyramidal adapter. The concave portion of the first end and the convex portion of the second end are complementary to each other. A connector is provided to connect the first and second ends in a selected angular alignment about a fixed axis of rotation. The range of angular alignment of the first and second components spans approximately 50 degrees about the fixed axis of rotation.

摘要: The shoulder prosthesis has a stem (10), a ball head (20) and a middle section (30) that can be attached to the proximal end (12) of the stem (10) and to which the ball head (50) can be attached. The middle section (30) can be clamped to an attachment element (20) that is adjustable in a first direction at the proximal end (12) of the stem (10), the first direction lying in the resection plane or parallel thereto. The first direction generally runs approximately medially-laterally. The attachment element (20) can be displaceable on the stem (10) by means of a dovetail guide (15) or guided displaceable in a guide bore in the stem (10). The middle section can be clamped against the attachment element (20), whereby the attachment element (20) and the middle section (30) can be fixed.

摘要: The present invention relates to an implant comprising two or more bone fragments that are combined to form a single unit. Cancellous bone or cortical bone is removed from a source and fashioned into bone components with desirable shapes and sizes. The bone components may be integrated to form implants for implantation in the body. Bone stock may be formed by combining sections of various bones of the body, and the bone stock may be further fashioned for use as implants with particular geometries.

摘要: A femoral knee prosthesis system for resurfacing a resected articular surface at the distal end of a femur includes a femoral component adapted to mate with the resected articular surface; and an attachment member. The interior surface of the femoral component is configured to connect to the first attachment member when the femoral component is mated on the resected articular surface of the femur and when the first attachment member is passed through the medial side or the lateral side of the resected articular surface. The femoral component is available in one-piece and two-piece systems. Mating femoral components (e.g., tapered or with lips that interlock with grooves) are also disclosed.

摘要: An allogenic intervertebral implant for fusing vertebrae is disclosed. The implant is a piece of allogenic bone conforming in size and shape with a portion of an end plate of a vertebra. The implant has a wedge-shaped profile to restore disc height and the natural curvature of the spine. The top and bottom surfaces of the implant have a plurality of teeth to resist expulsion and provide initial stability. The implant according to the present invention provides initial stability need for fusion without stress shielding.

摘要: Remote control of a mechanical transmission, more particularly to the remote control of at least one gripping element by a monodirectional action, whereby the gripping element includes an articulation which can close by converging upon the object which is to be gripped and which can be locked in an active position upon contact with said object and the control device can be disengaged in the gripping position. The device includes a) a primary pulley which is joined to a control cable; b) a spring which angularly returns the primary pulley to its initial position counter to the action of the cable; c) a secondary pulley which is joined to the end of the output cable terminating in the elements which are to be controlled; d) a self-disengaging mechanical drive disc which, for a torque value exceeding a given threshold, can displace the secondary pulley in a disengaged position; e) a locking ring for the second pulley in a disengaged position; f) opposing trapezoid-shaped teeth on opposite surfaces of the disk and secondary pulley, whereby the pulley can be alternatively driven by ring dogging by the disk and the teeth can be disengaged by a cam effect on the basis of a given torque.
