Abstract:
The present invention relates to a head-mounted display comprising at least one image display panel and an optical system for projecting an image in a left and right exit pupil of the head-mounted display. The optical system comprises a beam splitter, a hollow mirror and a first and a second light channel each comprising a folding mirror and magnifying optics. The magnifying optics comprise a lens element. An additional lens, one surface of which is provided with a diffractive structure, is arranged between the image display panel and the hollow mirror.
Abstract:
A digital signal converting method and device for converting an input image rate into an output image rate, is applied to input images which are formed by a plurality of input data frames. The method storing the input frames, calculating a sliding average over a plurality of stored frames, and deriving the averages for producing output images with a timing fixed by the output image rate.
Abstract:
In a method of enhancing a quality of a video signal (Yin), an absolute value (ST) of a first derivative of the video signal (Yin) is obtained (51-59), and the video signal (Yin) is processed (53-57, 61-69) in dependence upon the absolute value (ST) of the derivative of the video signal (Yin).
Abstract:
A road marking unit (1) according to the invention comprises a house (10) with a light transmissive window (20). In the house (10) is arranged an electro-optic switch (30). In an activated state of the road marking unit (1) the electro-optic switch (30) achieves that light is reflected from the window (20) back to the window (20). In a de-activated state of the road marking unit (1) the electro-optic switch (30) achieves that light from the window (20) is absorbed. The road marking unit (1) of the invention has the advantage that it can also in bright environmental light it can be switched between visible and invisible.
Abstract:
A separator device (3) provided with a cyclone chamber (11, 79) for separating solid and/or liquid particles from a gas flow. The cyclone chamber (11, 79) has an upper wall (49) in which an outlet opening (15) is present, and a substantially rotationally symmetrical side wall (47, 81) in which an inlet opening (13) is present adjacent the upper wall (49). A discharge opening (17, 85) for the separated solid and/or liquid particles is present at a side (55, 83) of the cyclone chamber (11, 79) remote from the upper wall (49). According to the invention, a rotatable annular centrifugal unit (61, 87) is arranged in the cyclone chamber (11, 79) around the outlet opening (15) near the upper wall (49), by means of which unit a short-circuit flow running directly from the inlet opening (13) to the outlet opening (15) in the cyclone chamber (11, 79) is prevented. The efficiency of the separator device (3) is considerably improved thereby. In a first embodiment, the centrifugal unit (61) comprises a rotatable annular disc (65) positioned adjacent and parallel to the upper wall (49). In a second embodiment, the centrifugal unit (87) comprises a rotatable rim of blades (89) which is partly countersunk into a recess (95) in the upper wall (49). The separator device (3) can be used in a cyclone vacuum cleaner (1).
Abstract:
In order to find the position of the boundary between transmitted codewords, in a receiver a reliability measure for two possible positions are compared. If a relative difference measure of these reliability measure exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the reliability measure indicating the largest reliability corresponds to the correct position of the boundary between the codewords.
Abstract:
An apparatus for connecting to a number of peripheral devices has a detection device for detecting coupling of a particular one of the peripheral devices to the apparatus. The detection device has a first magnetic means and the particular one of the peripheral devices has a second magnetic means for cooperating with the first magnetic means. The first and second means form a unique pair for uniquely recognizing the particular one of the peripheral devices among the peripheral devices.
Abstract:
Magnetic heads comprising at least one core portion of polycrystalline MnZn-ferroferrite material exhibit a very low so-called "rubbing noise" level if the average grain size of the material ranges between 0.2 and 3.0 micrometers. The rubbing noise level of these heads is even lower than the electronic noise level if the average grain size of the material ranges between 0.5 and 2.0 micrometers. By virtue thereof, the heads can very suitably be used in the frequency range from 5 to 100 MHz.
Abstract:
An image of objects in a three dimensional space is generated for display on a two dimensional pixel array in which N renditions of the image are averaged, with each rendition having a sub-pixel offset from the previous rendition, to produce an anti-alias filtering effect. The N sub-pixel offsets are arranged to produce a basic array which ensures N times oversampling of a selected class or classes of image feature. For example, to give good antialias filtering of edges closely aligned with the x-y axes of the pixel array, the offsets are chosen to ensure bisection of the pixel area (A) at N points in each of x and y.
Abstract:
An analog to digital converter comprises an asynchronous sigma-delta modulator generating an asynchronous duty cycle modulated square wave, sampling means to synchronously sample the asynchronous square wave and a decimating digital filter to convert the samples from the sampling means into a desired PCM-format.
