摘要: Degradable bioprostheses made of collagen-based material having amine-based and ester-based crosslinks are provided, as are methods for their formation and use. Some embodiments of the present invention are directed towards a method of controlling the ratio of amine-based crosslinks to ester-based crosslinks within a collagen-based material to provide a tailorably crosslinked collagen-based material. Some embodiments provide a method of making a degradable bioprosthesis involving controlling crosslinking to afford a degradable bioprosthesis that is partially crosslinked. By controlling the ratio of amine-based to ester-based crosslinks, by controlling the level of crosslinking, or by controlling both of these features, degradable bioprostheses with tailored degradation rates can be synthesized. Some embodiments of degradable bioprostheses have degradation rates that are tailored to allow their use in particular medical applications. Some embodiments are directed towards methods of use degradable bioprostheses in wound healing, tissue repair, and tissue supplementation.

摘要: This application relates to a method of manufacturing a knife using a multilayer material. In one aspect, the method includes preparing a multilayer material for manufacturing a knife, and heating and then forging the multilayer material to form a knife-shaped structure including a blade part and a handle part. The method also includes grinding the blade part to form a sharpened knife-edge and applying mud, including kaolin and white clay, to an entire surface of the knife-shaped structure and removing the mud applied to the blade part. The method further includes heating the knife-shaped structure applied with the mud, and quenching the heated knife-shaped structure through oil-cooling. The method further includes etching a surface of the quenched knife-shaped structure to form a pattern on the surface and grinding the surface-etched knife-shaped structure to form a knife having a final shape.

摘要: A flow generator 21 for a respiratory therapy system configured to deliver a breathable gas flow to a patient comprises a housing 27 comprising an inlet 28 and an outlet 25 and a gas flow path between the inlet 28 and outlet 25. An impeller is mounted within the housing 27 for rotation about an axis, the impeller configured to be rotationally driven by a motor to provide a gas flow along the gas flow path. Various embodiments are disclosed in which the flow generator 21 further comprises a sensor 23 mounted in the housing 27 in the gas flow path and configured to detect a property of the gas flow. The sensor 23 may be mounted in the outlet 25 so as to project into the gas flow path. Flow generator may comprise an axial inlet 28 and a tangential outlet 25. In another embodiment the sensor 23 may be mounted in the inlet 28.

摘要: Embodiments of negative pressure wound therapy systems, apparatuses, and methods for operating the systems and apparatuses are disclosed. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a negative pressure source, a connector port, at least one switch, and a controller. The negative pressure source is connected through the connector port to either (i) a wound dressing having a canister configured to store fluid aspirated from the wound or (ii) a wound dressing without a canister between the connector port and the wound dressing. The controller determines, based on a signal received from the at least one switch, whether the canister is positioned in the fluid flow path and adjusts one or more operational parameters of negative pressure wound therapy based on the determination. The switch is activated by the connection of either the canister or canisterless wound dressing to the apparatus.
