摘要: A wearable defibrillator for use in monitoring patient movement and cardiac activity and treating a patient includes a garment configured to be worn by the patient, treatment electrodes configured to apply an electric current to the patient, and an alarm module configured to provide audio, visual, and haptic notifications. The notifications are configured to indicate that an electric current will be administered imminently and prompt the patient to provide a response input. The wearable defibrillator includes a motion sensor configured to detect motion and body position of a patient, and a controller in electrical communication with the alarm module and the motion sensor. The controller is configured to monitor for the response input after the prompt, determine, based on the detected motion and body position, whether the patient is sleeping, and cause a change in one or more characteristics of the prompt on determining that the patient is sleeping.

摘要: Cochlear implant systems can include a cochlear electrode, a stimulator in electrical communication with the cochlear electrode, a sensor configured to receive a stimulus signal and generate an input signal based on the received stimulus signal, and a signal processor in communication with the stimulator and the sensor. The signal processor can include an analog filtering stage configured to generate an analog filtered signal from a received input signal and a digital filtering stage configured to generate a digitally filtered signal from the analog filtered signal. The analog filtering stage and digital filtering stage can be used to normalize the frequency response of the digitally filtered signal with respect to the stimulus signal.

摘要: Systems, devices, and techniques that enable medical devices to integrate and interoperate with one another are provided. In some examples, a wearable cardiac defibrillator (WCD) advantageously interoperates with an implanted pacemaker to provide a variety of benefits. For instance, in some examples, the WCD oversees execution of an antitachycardia (ATP) protocol by the implanted pacemaker and intervenes as needed. In other examples, the WCD drives an ATP protocol in which internal pacing pulses are provided by the implanted pacemaker under the control of the WCD. In other examples, the WCD monitors the activity of the implanted pacemaker to identify potential maintenance issues affecting the implanted pacemaker. The WCD and the implanted pacemaker may also interoperate to classify and act upon particular arrhythmia conditions.

摘要: A WCD system is configured to detect when a therapy administered to a patient by the WCD system is unsuccessful, and in response determine whether to send notifications to remote non-witness responders. The WCD system may be configured to decide to send such notifications after the WCD system determines it has administered a predetermined number of unsuccessful shocks to the patient. The predetermined number of unsuccessful shocks may be the maximum number of unsuccessful shocks the WCD system will administer to a patient, or every Xth shock (e.g., 3rd shock). The WCD system can be configured to periodically resend the notification. The notifications may be in form of SMS, voice messages, emails, app notifications, etc. sent to cell phones, smartphones, computers, laptops, tablets etc. of the responders either directly, via a server, or via a CAD-coupled server.

摘要: This document discusses, among other things, systems and methods related to a flexible circuit buzzer apparatus, such as a buzzer apparatus for use in an implantable medical device. In an example, the buzzer apparatus can include a flexible circuit having a first dielectric layer. A conductive layer can be disposed on the first dielectric layer. A hole can be formed in the first dielectric layer, the conductive layer, or both. A buzzer including a first contact can be located proximate to the hole. A conductive via can be plated or deposited in the hole. At least the first contact can be electrically coupled to the conductive layer by the conductive via.

摘要: An implantable neural stimulator method for modulating excitable tissue in a patient including: implanting a neural stimulator within the body of the patient such that one or more electrodes of the neural stimulator are positioned at a target site adjacent to or near excitable tissue; generating an input signal with a controller module located outside of, and spaced away from, the patient's body; transmitting the input signal to the neural stimulator through electrical radiative coupling; converting the input signal to electrical pulses within the neural stimulator; and applying the electrical pulses to the excitable tissue sufficient to modulate said excitable tissue.

摘要: A wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) (10) and method (60) comprise a set of electrodes (12) for placement on a subject (14), a mechanism for electrically engaging (16) the set of electrodes to the subject's skin, and at least one non-invasive physiologic sensor (18, 20) configured for placement on the subject. A controller (24) monitors an output of the non-invasive physiologic sensor (18, 20) for detecting a change in a health parameter of the subject being indicative of one or more of a change in subject condition that may be a precursor to potential cardiac arrhythmia or a simultaneously occurring cardiac arrhythmia. Responsive to detecting the change, the controller (24) activates an alarm (26) for requesting a response from the subject (14) within a predetermined time. Responsive to receiving the subject's response within the predetermined time, the controller (24) inhibits the mechanism (16) from electrically engaging the set of electrodes (12) to the subject's skin. Responsive to not receiving the subject's response, the controller (24) initiates the mechanism (16) for electrically engaging the set of electrodes (12) to the subject's skin.
