Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) power-cycles UE transmission modem components to reduce overall UE power consumption. For example, multiple HARQ ACK/NACK feedback bits are aggregated for a predetermined number of consecutive DL subframes, and then the feedback is transmitted in a single dedicated UL subframe so that a transmitter and power amplifier may be temporarily turned off (State 3) to reduce power consumption in the UE.
Abstract:
A cell-selection and a cell re-selection process include a wireless device that receives a signal from at least one node of a wireless network. The received signal can be a reference signal, an uplink signal, or a downlink signal, or a combination thereof. Location information of the wireless device is determined based on the received signal and transmitted to the wireless network. Information is received from the wireless network that contains a list of candidate nodes to which the wireless device can connect to the wireless network. The list of candidate nodes comprises a list of macro cell nodes, low-power cell nodes, or a combination thereof. The wireless device searches through the information containing the list of candidate nodes to determine a node for a connection to the wireless network.
Abstract:
Some demonstrative embodiments include apparatuses, systems and/or methods of wireless communication via an antenna array. For example, an apparatus may include an antenna array including a plurality of antenna modules arranged along a first axis, an antenna module of the antenna modules including an antenna sub-array coupled to a Radio-Frequency (RF) chain, the antenna sub-array including a plurality of antenna elements arranged along a second axis, the second axis is perpendicular to the first axis, and the RF chain is to process RF signals communicated via the plurality of antenna elements.
Abstract:
Embodiments of circuitry to be included in a user equipment (“UE”) and an evolved Node B (“eNB”) are described. To accelerate the detection of one or more cells in a wireless network, a UE may perform Radio Resource Management (“RRM”) measurements based on one or more synchronization signals instead of based on a common reference signal (“CRS”). Alternatively, the UE may perform RRM measurements for a cell based on a CRS transmitted for the cell without synchronizing to the cell using one or more synchronization signals. The UE may report the RRM measurements to an cNB that is to serve the UE.
Abstract:
Embodiments of methods and apparatus for wirelessly receiving, by a user equipment (UE), interference signal from a first enhanced Node B (eNB) while the UE is communicating with a second eNB; generating interference feedback information that is associated with an interference channel between the first eNB and the UE; and transmitting the interference feedback information to the first eNB via the second eNB are disclosed. Additional variants and embodiments are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Technology is discussed for supporting wireless communication paths from an antenna array with a vertical directional component. Examples reduce training feedback for increased numbers of communication paths by only reporting on a subset of Reference Signals (RSs) provided for various vertical beam configurations. Additional examples reduce feedback with virtual measurements based on a difference between RS measurements. One such measurement can come from full set of RSs for a reference beam configuration and another from a partial set of RSs for an additional beam configuration. Such virtual measurements can also be based on cross correlation for beamforming weights associated with the two configurations. Several examples of preparing and sending measurement reports consistent with Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Long Term Evolution (LTE) standards are discussed. The supporting technology also increases diversity and reduces a power differential between spatially multiplexed layers transmitting a common codeword.
Abstract:
A signal structure for use in D2D communications is described. In one embodiment, a preamble for automatic gain control at the receiver end is included in the transmitted signal. Techniques for scheduling of D2D transmissions using carrier sensing multiple access (CSMA) and a power control schemes for interference management are also described.
Abstract:
Technology for spatial domain beamforming coordination at a low power node (LPN) in a heterogeneous network (HetNet) is disclosed. One method can include the LPN collecting spatial feedback information of macro node interference from a plurality of wireless devices in a LPN cell. The LPN can compile the spatial feedback information into a spatial feedback report. The LPN can send the spatial feedback report from the LPN to a macro node for calculating a beamforming vector to reduce the macro node interference for the plurality of wireless devices in the LPN cell.
Abstract:
Examples are disclosed for coordinating transmission of one or more protocol data units to a wireless device from a coordinating set of base stations. In some examples, coordinating may include exchanging information via a backhaul communication channel coupling or interconnecting the base stations included in the coordinating set of base stations. For these examples, one or more protocol data units may be transmitted to the wireless device from the coordinating set of base stations via a plurality of separate communication links based on the exchanged information. Other examples are described and claimed.
