The heat-recoverable article according to the present invention is a cylindrical, heat-recoverable article including a base layer. The base layer contains two or more polyolefin-based resins and a flame retardant, the base layer has a single melting-point peak temperature, the melting-point peak temperature is 112° C. or more and 128° C. or less, and a heat of fusion of the base layer is 60 J/g or more and 85 J/g or less. A heat of fusion of a total resin component of the base layer is preferably 80 J/g or more and 135 J/g or less.

A fluororesin-coated roller or belt that has a fluororesin coating layer with few defects and a rubber layer underneath whose thermal deterioration is suppressed is provided. The production method therefor include a step of inserting a base member or a rubber-coated base member including a base member and at least a rubber layer on the outer peripheral surface of the base member into an empty space of a thermally shrinkable fluororesin tube; a preliminary shrinking step conducted according to need; a pressure fusion-bonding step of bringing the base member or rubber-coated base member into contact with a hot plate surface heated to a temperature in a range of 250° C. to 400° C. under pressure while rotating the base member or rubber-coated base member so as to fusion-bond the thermally shrinkable fluororesin tube onto the outer peripheral surface of the base member or the rubber-coated base member; and a reheating step and a rapid cooling step that are conducted according to need.

The invention offers a porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane, which is a porous resin membrane produced by the following steps: preparing multiple types of polytetrafluoroethylene each having a different quantity of heat of fusion; using each of the multiple types of polytetrafluoroethylene to form a membrane composed of a fluororesin consisting mainly of polytetrafluoroethylene; heating each membrane to its melting point or above to bake it, so that multiple types of nonporous resin membranes are produced; stacking the multiple types of nonporous resin membranes in the order of the magnitude of the quantity of heat of fusion of the polytetrafluoroethylene used to produce each of the nonporous resin membranes; bonding the stacked membranes with each other; and stretching the bonded membranes to form the porous resin membrane. The porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane has a mean flow pore diameter of 50 nm or less. It has through pores having a microscopic and uniform diameter, and when used as a filter, it has excellent efficiency in filtering treatment and is less likely to develop clogging. The invention also offers a composite of the membrane, a process of producing the composite, and a separation membrane element incorporating the composite as a filtering membrane.

A fluorocarbon resin composite, cookware, and a roller and a belt for use in office automation equipment are each produced by applying an uncrosslinked fluorocarbon resin on a base, subjecting the fluorocarbon resin to electron beam irradiation in a low-oxygen atmosphere to crosslink the fluorocarbon resin while the temperature of the fluorocarbon resin is maintained at a temperature equal to or higher than the melting point of the fluorocarbon resin, and machining the base into a desired shape. The resin tube and the insulated wire having an insulating coating are formed by using the flame-retardant, flexible resin composition as a material.
